Tarragon

Tarragon, also known by the Latin name Artemisia dracunculus, is an indispensable perennial not only for lovers of herb beds but also for those looking for reliable and aromatic greenery for the garden. It originally comes from the vast steppes of Central Asia and southern Russia, where it grows in sunny and drier places. Thanks to its origin, it thrives best in our gardens in full sun in well-drained, rather loamy soil with less moisture. You will receive an already grown seedling in a pot from us, which you just need to transplant to the selected location. Very soon, it will form a clump growing to a height of forty to seventy centimeters. It is an entirely undemanding plant that does not suffer from diseases or pests, so even beginners can easily handle its cultivation. Moreover, it is highly frost-resistant and easily handles temperatures dropping to minus twenty-three degrees. During June and July, tarragon blooms with tiny yellow flowers that perfectly complement its deep green, narrow leaves. In the garden, it functions excellently as filler greenery between more prominent flowering perennials or in mixed drought-tolerant plantings. It will also find its place in a vase, where its stems act as a delicate complement to summer flowers and stay fresh for many days. It is equally well suited for drying for floristic purposes or winter decorations. However, the greatest advantage of tarragon is its culinary use, as its edible leaves will give dishes an absolutely unmistakable flavor.
