Do záhonu si jednoduše přesadíte naši vzrostlou sazenici a brzy se potěšíte hustými trsy zelených listů. Ty dorůstají 60 až 80 centimetrů a vyžadují kolem sebe prostor 70 centimetrů. Od června do září tvoří krémová a stříbrná květenství měnící se do béžových tónů. Kavyl krásně doplní suchomilné trvalky a na vhodném stanovišti se ochotně přesévá. Dlouhá stébla se výborně hodí k řezu do váz i k sušení do dekorací. Vyhýbají se mu choroby i škůdci a vydrží mrazy až -28 °C. Před zimou jej nestříhejte, protože ojíněná stébla vytváří nádherný zimní efekt.
