Ruby grass

Melinis Karoo Queen comes from the dry regions of Africa. It impresses with its feathery pink-reddish spikelets and overall airy appearance. It beautifully softens flowerbeds with drought-loving perennials and is used in floristry, both fresh and dried. It is not fully hardy here, so it is suitable for growing in containers on sunny terraces. It is most often grown as an annual, but when grown in containers, overwintering in protected bright spaces is worth trying.
