Cultivation
Pěstování kultivaru Zitterzebra je i pro úplné začátečníky, protože tato tráva nevyžaduje žádné složité pěstitelské zásahy. Pro úspěšný růst vyberte stanoviště na slunci nebo v polostínu. Klíčová je kvalita půdy – třeslice preferuje chudší a dobře propustnou zeminu. V příliš výživných a humózních půdách sice poroste, ale může ztrácet svůj kompaktní tvar, vytahovat se a poléhat, čímž by zanikl efekt jejích krásných panašovaných listů.
Sazenice vysazujeme do sponu přibližně 35 cm (asi 7 až 9 rostlin na metr čtvereční), aby měly jednotlivé trsy dostatek prostoru pro cirkulaci vzduchu. Jelikož se jedná o méně konkurenceschopný druh, nedoporučujeme ji sázet do těsné blízkosti velmi bujně rostoucích trvalek, které by ji mohly časem vytlačit. Po výsadbě rostlinu zalijte, ale následně to se zálivkou nepřehánějte. Třeslice snese i mírné sucho a vláhu vyžaduje spíše střídmou. Hnojení není nutné, naopak by mohlo být na škodu, protože podporuje nadměrný růst listů na úkor pevnosti stébel a kvetení.
Tato tráva je sice krátkověká trvalka, ale na stanovišti se spolehlivě udržuje díky schopnosti se přesévat. Aby se v záhonu udržela dlouhodobě, je dobré nechat část květenství dozrát a vysemenit. Pokud však chcete rostlinu využít k dekoraci, stříhejte stébla s klásky ve tvaru srdíček do letních kytic nebo je sušte do zimních vazeb – tvar si drží perfektně. Odkvetlá stébla, která na rostlině ponecháte, je vhodné zastřihnout v pozdním létě, aby trs vypadal úhledně. Zaschlé listy pak odstraňte až brzy na jaře, aby přes zimu chránily kořeny, ačkoliv je rostlina plně mrazuvzdorná až do -28 °C a českou zimu zvládá bez problémů.
Třeslici 'Zitterzebra' můžete bez obav pěstovat i v nádobách a truhlících. Díky své výšce 25–50 cm a absenci hlubokého kořenového systému se jí v květináčích daří výborně. Dbejte však na to, aby nádoba měla odtokové otvory a na dně vrstvu drenáže (keramzit nebo kamínky). Substrát pro nádoby smíchejte s pískem v poměru 2:1, aby byl dostatečně vzdušný. V nádobách je potřeba hlídat zálivku o něco pečlivěji než ve volné půdě, substrát by neměl zcela vyschnout na troud, ale rozhodně nesmí být trvale rozbahněný.

Tufted hairgrass is an undemanding native grass that remains green even in winter. In nature, it grows in meadows and forest clearings. It forms a neat clump of leaves, from which grow delicate thin stems with transparent clouds of flowers. It adapts even to more difficult conditions, such as dry shade or compacted soil, and can handle waterlogging too. The flowers of the 'Schottland' cultivar are brown at the beginning of flowering, later turning gold. The leaf clumps grow up to 60 centimeters, the flower stems up to 120.
