Patrinia

Patrinia is originally a wild East Asian perennial and herb, similar in appearance to our valerian. However, its flowers are chrome yellow, and the leaves resemble those of scabious. An interesting effect is the reddish coloring of the leaves in autumn. It combines beautifully with late summer and autumn perennials as well as grasses. It has its uses in traditional Chinese medicine. Due to its long vase life, it is excellent for cutting. It is also attractive to butterflies and bees and remains interesting even after flowering.
