Russian sage

Russian sage will reliably bring a touch of sunny steppes to your garden, while requiring almost no care at all. These sparsely branched subshrubs with greyish aromatic leaves and noticeably downy stems originate from rocky regions ranging from Afghanistan to Tibet. They are accustomed to open plains full of sun, so they will thrive best for you in similarly oriented spots. Thanks to their origins, Russian sage absolutely loves full sun and well-drained, rather poor soil. They make a fantastic addition to sunny beds and work excellently alongside other drought-tolerant perennials, with which they create beautiful contrasts. During the summer, they will also delight you with a flood of tiny flowers that attract plenty of bees and other pollinators to the garden.

Perovskia atriplicifolia

Perovskia are sparsely branched subshrubs, originally from areas ranging from Afghanistan to Tibet. They grow in open, sunny, rocky, and stony locations. Their white-felted shoots and grayish aromatic leaves are striking. They are suitable for sunny beds with other drought-loving perennials, where they create interesting structures even in the winter months. Bluesette is a dwarf variety of perovskia, it has an airy appearance and is also suitable for growing in containers.
