Krokus

The 'Barr’s Purple' crocus is one of the first messengers of spring that will reliably enliven a garden tired after winter. This tiny, roughly ten-centimeter-tall gem blooms as early as February and March. Deep green leaves soon sprout from the bulbs, followed by a flood of flowers in gentle lilac and light purple shades. It is excellent for naturalizing under deciduous trees and shrubs, but it also looks absolutely magical in lawns, where it willingly creates carpets of purple flowers when planted in larger groups. Especially at the end of winter, despite its low growth, it creates an incredible effect and attracts the attention not only of people but also of the first bees and bumblebees, for whom it represents a very important source of food. Crocuses thrive in both sun and partial shade and complement other early-flowering bulbs such as snowdrops or winter aconites perfectly.

The creamy yellow flowers of the 'Cream Beauty' crocus belong to the most delicate beauties you can encounter in the garden in late winter. From the end of winter until April, these small plants peek out into the world and bring with them a pleasant, sweet scent. Unlike bright yellow varieties, 'Cream Beauty' offers more subtle, pastel tones. These light colors appear very clean and relaxed in spring compositions. They look best in large groups, whether you let them grow freely in the lawn, under old fruit trees, or in the front of sunny perennial beds. We often recommend combining them with other early-flowering bulbs, with which they will create an irresistible sight in your garden. It is an exceptionally hardy and long-lived plant that reaches a height of up to ten centimeters. It grows completely disease-free and easily handles even harsh frosts. The 'Ard Schenk' crocus is a messenger of approaching spring, and its pure white flowers can brighten up the garden at a time when most other plants are still fast asleep. Small plants reaching a height of only about ten centimeters grow from the bulbs in early spring. The 'Ard Schenk' variety stands out with beautiful white flowers with a radiant yellow center, which open with the first rays of the sun. In the garden, this crocus is excellent for naturalizing under deciduous shrubs and trees, but also for use in meadows and lawns, where it willingly forms rich carpets of flowers over time. Despite its low stature, it can create an incredible visual effect, especially when planted in larger groups. It also finds its place in spring planters or small rock gardens. Early flowering also represents a very important source of the first food for bees, bumblebees, and other insects waking up after a long winter. Crocuses in general bring freshness to the awakening garden, and the 'Ard Schenk' variety beautifully complements colorful spring compositions with its pure elegance.
