Penstemon digitalis
Penstemon digitalis 'Mystica' is a relatively robust and long-lived perennial with attractive bronze-purple leaves and white-purple flowers. The decorative spent inflorescences will adorn garden beds until winter. However, the plant can also be cut back after flowering to encourage new growth. The main difference between Penstemon Mystica and Husker Red lies in the foliage. Mystica's leaves should be more durable and visually attractive even after the first frosts. We recommend cutting back the Penstemon after it blooms to encourage new growth. It lasts 5 to 7 days in a vase.
