Coneflower

Echinacea, also known as coneflower, hails from the sunny prairies of North America. This hardy perennial thrives best in full sun in drier, well-draining soil. Throughout the summer, it produces striking flowers with spiky centers that reliably attract butterflies and other pollinators to your garden. In addition to traditional pink and purple shades, we offer cultivars that bloom in white, yellow, or orange. Many coneflowers grow quite compactly, so you can easily plant them in pots on your patio. Coneflowers are easy to grow from seed. If you're just starting out, we can guide you on how to sow, or you can jump straight in and try direct sowing into your flower beds. It is an excellent cut flower; it can stay fresh in a vase for a whole week. Once it has finished blooming or the petals have fallen, you can dry the sturdy stems with their central cones and use them as a striking detail in autumn and winter arrangements.
