Teucrium chamaedrys
Germander is an inconspicuous but very useful plant. It is suitable for warm sunny places with permeable soil, where it can create dense, closed stands. Its tiny scalloped leaves are leathery and remain nice even in winter. It is also a honey plant and attracts bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. In historical gardens, it can replace problematic low hedges of dwarf boxwood varieties on a small scale.
