Forget-me-not

The forget-me-not is an essential part of the spring garden, creating dense cushions of tiny, most often blue or white flowers. Most popular varieties grow as biennials. This means that after sowing, they form only a basal rosette of leaves in the first year and bloom abundantly only in the spring of the following year. You will also find moisture-loving perennials among them, which thrive best by garden ponds or on the edges of streams. Even though they are short-lived plants, thanks to their excellent ability to self-seed, they will reliably persist in a good spot and delight you for many years. Regardless of which one you choose, growing them from seeds is not complicated. You can start them indoors, with our guide on how to sow seeds to help you, or try direct sowing right in their final spot in the flowerbed.

Myosotis scorpioides

A native short-lived perennial that naturally grows in damp meadows. It makes up for its short lifespan in the garden with excellent self-seeding ability. Where it has good conditions, it creates richly flowering patches. It is perfectly suitable for wetter places in the garden, at the edges of streams and ponds.
