Euphorbia Miners Merlot is a dramatic element of any spring flowerbed that immediately grabs attention with its unusual coloring. This variety is characterized by deep burgundy to purple leaves that form a perfect contrast to the bright lime-green inflorescences appearing from April to June. The original botanical species of wood spurge naturally occurs in light forests and on their edges, so even in the garden, it will appreciate a location in the sun or partial shade with well-draining, humus-rich soil. Although it is more of a short-lived perennial, it will form dense clumps during its life that effectively fill the space between other plants and reach heights of up to 60 centimeters. It is a rewarding plant even for beginner gardeners because it does not suffer from diseases or pests and easily handles frosts down to -20 °C. Furthermore, the flowers are full of nectar, so in the spring they reliably attract bees and other pollinators. Miners Merlot is also perfectly suited for cutting into a vase, where its lime flowers add freshness and a modern look to bouquets. When handling the plant, however, extra caution is needed, and ideally, gloves should be used, as it exudes a white sap that is poisonous and can irritate the skin.
