Culver's root

Culver's root is a reliable and long-lived perennial originally from the eastern part of North America. In the wild, it grows freely in damp meadows and on the edges of light forests, which is why it will thrive best in similar spots in your garden as well. It prefers a sunny or semi-shady location with permeable soil that is rich in humus and holds moisture well.

It looks very natural in the garden and adds an interesting height structure to flower beds. Its small flowers are arranged in upright, branching spikes that bloom gradually and attract a large number of insects, especially butterflies and bees. Furthermore, the plants look lovely not only in the summer but also after they have finished blooming. Their durable seed heads decorate flower beds long into the winter.

You can also grow Culver's root as a cut flower for a vase, where it will stay fresh for a very long time. It is an excellent choice for natural-style plantings, where it works well as a taller layer among other plants.
