Campanula lactiflora
The milky bellflower 'Alba' is a charming and completely undemanding perennial that will bring a sense of lightness to your garden. It originally comes from the regions of the Caucasus and western Asia, where it naturally grows in sunny mountain meadows and on the edges of sparse forests or shrubby growths. It will thrive best for you in full sun in ordinary loamy soil that is adequately moist. You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which you just need to transplant straight into the flower bed. The bellflower grows relatively quickly and reaches a height of up to ninety centimeters at the time of flowering, so it is advisable to provide it with support so that its long stems don't break. Even beginners can easily handle its cultivation; moreover, the plants are avoided by pests and diseases and will easily survive severe frosts dropping to minus twenty-eight degrees. In the flower bed, it will grow well in the company of plants that will not compete too much with its vigorous root system. It is an absolutely perfect companion for roses or hydrangeas. The 'Alba' cultivar will delight you with a flood of pure white flowers from June to August. Furthermore, the long stems of this bellflower are practically predestined for cutting. The fresh flowers will last up to fourteen days in a vase and brighten up any summer table.
