Mountain tea

Ironwort, also known as Greek mountain tea, brings the scent and atmosphere of the sunlit Balkans into gardens. In its original homeland, it grows on rocky and dry mountain slopes, where it bravely resists fierce sun and a lack of water. Therefore, it will thrive best here in full sun in well-draining, sandy, and nutrient-poor soil. From us, you will receive a healthy seedling in a pot, which you just need to transplant straight into the flowerbed. It is a resilient perennial, does not suffer from pests or diseases, and its care will be playfully managed even by beginners; it will even survive frosts down to minus seventeen degrees. From June to August, it decorates the garden with pastel yellow flowers, which excellently contrast with the grey-green felted leaves. The strongly aromatic plant acts as a magnet for bees and bumblebees. It will excellently fit into drought-tolerant beds. Ironwort is moreover edible and a delicious tea is traditionally prepared from it. You can utilize the firm stems for cutting into summer bouquets or dry them into winter decorations and herbal mixtures.
