The Cornflower packet contains a larger amount of seeds because we recommend direct sowing straight into the bed. This often entails worse conditions, which leads to a significantly lower number of resulting plants. That is why the packet is so big :)

The blue cornflower is an absolute classic of our fields and meadows, which probably needs no lengthy introduction. However, the 'Tall Double Blue Boy' variety brings something extra. Compared to its wild relatives that we see along roads, it boasts rich flowers in an unmistakable, deep blue shade, sometimes with a purple tone. You can hardly imagine anything more meadow-like. Thanks to its strong stems growing up to eighty centimeters tall, this annual is perfectly suited for cutting, adding true rustic charm to bouquets. But its use doesn't end in the vase. The flowers keep their fantastic color even after drying! At weddings, we loved using them in flower crowns and corsages, where they have excellent stamina! The petals are edible. They serve perfectly as an original garnish for summer salads, desserts, or festive cakes. Moreover, in the garden, it functions as a reliable magnet for bees and bumblebees, who simply go crazy for its nectar.

A novelty in the Cornflower family. One of these little plants bloomed by mistake in a bed of blue Cornflowers last year, and we immediately started looking for it to grow. It is a very unusual shade of deep raspberry.

Chrpa císařská Splendens rozzáří každou slunnou zahradu svými velkými květy ve výrazných odstínech fuchsiové a žvýkačkové růžové. Tuto oblíbenou letničku si u nás hravě vypěstujete ze semen. Přímý výsev do půdy je možný v jarních měsících od března do května, nebo můžete zvolit podzimní termíny v srpnu, září a říjnu pro ranější kvetení v dalším roce. Pokud preferujete předpěstování, ideální čas je v únoru nebo v září. Rostlina dorůstá do výšky padesáti až devadesáti centimetrů a nepotřebuje zvláštní péči, stačí jí plné slunce. Od června až do září vytváří záplavu plných květů, které vábí včely a motýly z celého okolí. Výborně zapadne do pestrých záhonů, kde tvoří krásný kontrast s jemnějšími druhy letniček. Zamilujete si ji také jako vynikající květinu k řezu.
