Pearly everlasting

Edelweiss is a hardy perennial native to the dry, rocky slopes of the distant Himalayas. Its rugged mountain origin has made it an adaptable plant that can handle both summer drought and hard frosts in your garden. It thrives best in full sun in well-drained, sandy soil. It is not suitable for shady corners with heavy, wet soil. It catches the eye at first glance with its grey-silver foliage, which beautifully complements colourful neighbours in perennial beds. In summer, it adds small white flowers shaped like little buttons. These resemble well-known strawflowers and are excellent for drying for winter arrangements. Thanks to its low requirements, edelweiss is a great choice for rock gardens, dry stone walls, and modern gravel beds. Once it is established in the right spot, it requires almost no care and grows reliably even where other plants would struggle.

Pearly Everlasting, Loukykvět

Anaphalis triplinervis

Tiny white buttons of flowers that look like small Strawflowers make the three-veined everlasting an unmissable part of any drought-tolerant garden. This adaptable perennial naturally grows on the mountain slopes of the Himalayas, which is why a sunny location with well-drained sandy soil suits it best. It is exceptionally tough, tolerates drought and frosts well, and will please you with the fact that diseases and pests avoid it. The silvery-grey leaves bring a sense of calm to the plantings and harmonize beautifully with summer flowers. Bees love to feast on its flowers, and it is literally a treasure for florists. Fresh stems with blooming edible flowers perfectly liven up summer bouquets, where they stay fresh for a long time. However, you will fully utilize its beauty when drying it.
