Pearly everlasting

Edelweiss is a hardy perennial native to the dry, rocky slopes of the distant Himalayas. Its rugged mountain origin has made it an adaptable plant that can handle both summer drought and hard frosts in your garden. It thrives best in full sun in well-drained, sandy soil. It is not suitable for shady corners with heavy, wet soil. It catches the eye at first glance with its grey-silver foliage, which beautifully complements colourful neighbours in perennial beds. In summer, it adds small white flowers shaped like little buttons. These resemble well-known strawflowers and are excellent for drying for winter arrangements. Thanks to its low requirements, edelweiss is a great choice for rock gardens, dry stone walls, and modern gravel beds. Once it is established in the right spot, it requires almost no care and grows reliably even where other plants would struggle.

Pearly everlasting Neuschnee, Loukykvět

Anaphalis margaritacea

Pearly everlasting is an interesting perennial whose original homeland is the dry grassy and rocky slopes of the distant Himalayas. Thanks to its mountain origins, it is a hardy and undemanding plant that easily handles harsher frosts and will grow effortlessly in poor sandy and well-drained soil in full sun. Its silvery-grey foliage creates an interesting contrast in flower beds and perfectly complements various drought-tolerant plantings. From July to September, tiny pure white inflorescences appear above the leaves, resembling small buttons or tiny Strawflowers in their appearance. The plant is a great attraction for bees and butterflies, offering them an excellent pasture. The Neuschnee cultivar stands out with its absolutely pure, radiant white shade of flowers. If you like creating your own floral arrangements, pearly everlasting will not disappoint you. Its flowers are excellent for cutting and stay fresh in a vase for a long time. At the same time, it is perfectly suited for drying for floristry purposes, as it retains its firm shape and color even after drying.

Pearly everlasting Sommerschnee, Loukykvět

Anaphalis triplinervis

Three-veined pearly everlasting originates from the harsh conditions of the Himalayas, where it naturally grows on dry grassy and rocky slopes. Thanks to its origin, it is an extremely hardy and undemanding perennial that can easily handle poorer sandy soil, full sun, and even stronger frosts. In the garden, it works as a great element in drought-tolerant flowerbeds, where it beautifully complements lower grasses or other sun-loving species. From July to September, tiny white inflorescences appear above the silvery-grey leaves. The Sommerschnee cultivar does justice to its name, as its flowers truly resemble freshly fallen summer snow and, as a bonus, intensively attract bees and other pollinators. The white button-like flowers are similar to small strawflowers and represent perfect material for creating dry arrangements. They are also excellently suited for cutting into summer bouquets, where their interesting structure and tiny flowers will make a great show. Pearly everlasting does not suffer from diseases or pests, so it will delight even complete beginners.
