Physostegia virginiana

The obedient plant is native to the eastern regions of North America, where it naturally lines riverbanks and colonizes wet meadows. Thanks to its origin, it loves plenty of moisture and sun, or partial shade, where it forms upright and rich clumps. It gradually spreads by root runners, reliably filling empty spaces in the flower bed. Its flowers resemble snapdragons and are arranged in slender spikes with four rows of tubular blooms that attract bees and other pollinators. The 'Alba' cultivar boasts a pure white color that brings light and elegance to the autumn garden. It blooms from August to October, a time when many other perennials have already finished blooming. For florists, the obedient plant is an absolute treasure. We harvest it for bouquets as soon as the first flowers in the inflorescence open. It then gradually blooms in the vase and stays fresh for 10 to 14 days. It perfectly accompanies dahlias, for example. The faded seed spikes are also interesting and can be used in dried arrangements.

Obedient plant is native to the eastern regions of North America, where it naturally grows on river banks and wet meadows. Thanks to this origin, it loves moister habitats, but it can also handle standard garden soil provided it gets enough moisture. It forms upright, bushy clumps that willingly spread into the surroundings via root runners, allowing it to fill empty spaces in flower beds. The flowers have the shape of a slender spike with four rows of tubular blooms that strikingly resemble snapdragons. The 'Rosea' cultivar will delight you with its delicate light pink color and great vitality, thanks to which it spreads easily and quickly. It is an ideal perennial for beginners because it does not suffer from pests or diseases and is fully frost-resistant. For florists, obedient plant is a literal treasure. We harvest it as soon as the first flowers on the inflorescence open; they then continue to bloom in the vase and stay fresh for an impressive 10 to 14 days. In late summer bouquets, it forms a great companion for dahlias, adding flair to them with its vertical line. The faded flower spikes with seeds, which hold their shape, are also interesting and usable for drying in winter arrangements.

Physostegia virginiana

Obedient plant is native to the eastern regions of North America, where it naturally lines riverbanks and wet meadows. Thanks to its origin, it loves the sun but requires plenty of moisture, so it will thrive in humus-rich and clay soils that do not dry out. It forms upright and dense shrubby clumps that slowly spread into the surroundings through root runners, creating a nice closed stand in the flowerbed over time. Its flowers have the shape of a slender spike with four rows of tubular blooms that resemble Snapdragons in shape and attract bees and bumblebees. The Bouquet Rose variety will delight you with a sweet purple-pink color that will brighten the garden in August, September, and October. For florists, this perennial is a late-summer treasure. We harvest it as soon as the first flowers open in the inflorescence; in a vase, they then willingly continue to bloom and stay fresh for ten to fourteen days. In bouquets, they form a great companion for Dahlias, to which they add a vertical element. The later faded spikes with seeds are also interesting and well-suited for drying.
