Dianthus barbatus
The Sweet series dianthus is a Sweet William (Dianthus barbatus). The stems are therefore stronger and sturdier than, for example, a carnation. The inflorescence is in the form of a corymb, where at the end of the stem is a mushroom-like cluster composed of smaller flowers. We've found it most effective to plant in poly-tunnels in the autumn, then in spring you'll harvest a profusion of meter-long stems. From one plant, you'll harvest at least 10 full-sized stems, which gradually grow and re-bloom. Dianthus Sweet Coral is a beautiful shade of coral pink.
