Statice
Statice is one of those classics you might remember from your grandmother's garden, but it's making a big comeback today. We grow them by the hundreds here because they are incredibly useful filler material for bouquets. Their tiny florets add volume and texture to any arrangement, and even when fresh, they last a really long time in a vase. Once statice is in full bloom, it basically doesn't wilt. That makes it a reliable staple for drying, winter crafting, wreaths, or boutonnieres. Once dried, the flowers beautifully retain their original colors. These plants thrive best in full sun and well-draining soil. Most varieties handle summer heat well and aren't prone to pests. Growing your own plants isn't complicated at all. Just find a bright spot for the seedlings, and they will reward you with a generous harvest of stems throughout the entire season.

Statice Suworova
Statice Suworova, known as Limonium suworowii, is a striking annual that will instantly grab your attention. Its appearance is unique because, unlike classic statice, it creates long, slender, and playfully curved inflorescences. It grows to a height of about seventy centimeters and adorns beds throughout the summer with a flood of tiny flowers in vibrant shades of fuchsia. These unconventional pinkish-purple spikes pair perfectly with ornamental grasses. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil, where it becomes a magnet for pollinators. It is best to provide it with light support in the garden bed. You will love it not only in the garden but especially in a vase as an excellent cut flower. It is even more delightful as a dried decoration, as it beautifully retains its color and shape even after drying.
