Coreopsis
The 'Limerock Ruby' cultivar brings clouds of deep red flowers to summer beds, which bloom tirelessly from early summer until autumn. The original species of coreopsis grows on the sunny prairies of North America. As a result, it is accustomed to full sun and will appreciate loamy but well-drained soil, where it can handle even harsher winter frosts. It forms low and neatly compact bushes in the flower bed. The rich flood of flowers contrasts beautifully with delicate, fresh green leaves, giving the plant a very airy overall appearance. Coreopsis are naturally short-lived perennials, however, with proper placement and occasional watering, you can ensure their presence in the garden for a longer time. Cultivation is easy even for complete beginners, as these plants are avoided by common diseases and pests. The flowers will reliably attract plenty of beneficial pollinators to your garden, and the bed will literally buzz with life. Coreopsis is perfectly suited for the edges of plantings or along pathways. Moreover, you can easily cut the flowers on thin stems to take home into a vase, where they will retain their freshness for about a week and lighten up any summer bouquet.
