Fleabane

Fleabane 'Blütenmeer' is an ethereal, short-lived perennial that traveled to us all the way from Mexico and brings unbridled lightness to European gardens. It looks like a flood of tiny daisies that gradually change color from pure white to soft pink, so you will see a diverse palette of shades on a single plant at the same time. It is perfectly suited for growing on sunny rockeries, in dry stone walls, or even in pots, where it forms richly blooming cushions. Although it is a short-lived plant, it often maintains itself by self-seeding in well-drained soil, so you will enjoy its beauty in the garden repeatedly. Moreover, the flowers tirelessly attract bees and other pollinators from the beginning of summer until the first frosts. You can also harvest them into small vases, where their tender little flowers will complement the atmosphere of your home.

Erigeron 'Dominator' is guaranteed to liven up any sunny garden with deep shades of dark purple and blue-violet. Its wild ancestors grow on mountain meadows and in light forests, so it prefers direct sun and standard, well-drained soil with moderate moisture. From our seedling, after easy transplanting, a sturdy, roughly half-meter-tall plant will grow. It is adorned with lush green leaves and, from June to August, an enormous quantity of flowers that reliably attract beneficial pollinators. Erigeron stands out in summer plantings alongside daisies or sedums, where it creates a beautiful color contrast. It will also bring great joy to floral enthusiasts because it is perfect for cutting. We cut stems for the vase when fully bloomed, and they stay fresh for many days. However, do not use it for drying in permanent arrangements. It doesn't mind harsh winters and easily survives frosts dropping to minus 35 degrees. It is an ideal choice for beginner gardeners; just check initially that the young leaves are not attracting slugs.

Erigeron stands out for its low maintenance, making it quickly popular even with complete beginners. In its homeland, it inhabits sunny mountain plains, so in your garden, it will appreciate a spot in full sun with well-drained soil and moderate watering. You will receive a healthy seedling in a pot, ready for immediate planting. We recommend planting six to nine plants per square meter with spacing of about 40 centimeters, so it will soon create a connected stand. The 'Sommerneuschnee' variety grows up to 60 centimeters tall and does not need staking. Throughout the summer, it bears a breathtaking quantity of flowers that transition smoothly from white to fresh pink. The whole clump has a fluffy appearance and perfectly connects more prominent perennials in the flower bed. The flowers act as a huge magnet for pollinators. The use of Erigeron does not end in the garden; it is an extremely popular cut flower. The richly branched stems are ideal filler for colorful summer bouquets. These delicate flowers are not suitable for drying, but they will beautifully enliven fresh arrangements for many days.
