Creeping bugleweed is the unappreciated hero of shady and semi-shady corners of the garden, where it forms dense and closed carpets. Its main advantage is the ability to spread quickly using creeping runners, thereby suppressing weed growth without being aggressive toward larger plants. In May and June, racemes of blue-purple flowers rise above the rosettes of often bronze or purple-tinged leaves, literally magnetizing bees and bumblebees searching for nectar. Although it is not suitable for cutting, it fulfills its function perfectly in the garden as a lawn alternative under trees or on slopes where ordinary grass fails to thrive. Thanks to its high frost resistance and low maintenance, it is an ideal choice even for beginner gardeners who want to liven up darker and damper parts of their property.

Bugleweed Catlin's Giant is a true giant among groundcover perennials and an excellent choice for shady corners. The original botanical species is found in the undergrowth of deciduous forests and on damper meadows in Europe, so even in the garden it loves semi-shady locations with humus-rich and loamy soil that does not dry out. This cultivar stands out with unusually large, glossy leaves in bronze to burgundy-brown shades, which reliably cover the area and give weeds no chance.
