Zběhovec plazivý je vděčnou a nenáročnou trvalkou, která v přírodě obývá vlhčí listnaté lesy a louky napříč Evropou. Díky své schopnosti rychle se rozrůstat pomocí nadzemních výběžků vytváří husté koberce, které efektivně potlačují růst plevele a zakrývají holá místa v podrostu stromů či keřů. Kultivar Rosea se od původního divokého druhu liší svými něžnými, světle růžovými klasy květů, které se objevují od dubna do června. I když se nehodí k řezu do vázy, na zahradě udělá velkou parádu a poslouží jako cenný zdroj nektaru pro včely a čmeláky v jarním období. Rostlina je plně mrazuvzdorná a její stálezelené listy zdobí záhon i během zimy, což oceníte v obdobích bez sněhové pokrývky.

Ideální podmínky pro růst
Pěstování zběhovce 'Rosea' je skvělým začátkem pro zahradníky, kteří chtějí rychle ozelenit stinná zákoutí své zahrady. Sazenice, které vám dorazí, jsou připraveny k okamžité výsadbě do volné půdy. Vyberte jim místo v polostínu nebo stínu, kde bude jejich růžové kvetení od dubna do června krásně kontrastovat s tmavě zelenými listy. Pokud máte na zahradě pouze slunné stanoviště, můžete zběhovec vysadit i tam, ale připravte se na nutnost častější zálivky. Půda by měla být vlhčí, humózní a hlinitá. Před výsadbou je vhodné půdu prokypřit a obohatit organickou hmotou, což pomůže udržet potřebnou vláhu.
Péče během sezóny
Během vegetační sezóny je péče minimální. Zběhovec vyžaduje střední zálivku, což znamená udržovat půdu stále mírně vlhkou, nikoliv však trvale bahnitou. Rostlina je velmi odolná a netrpí žádnými specifickými chorobami ani škůdci, což vám ušetří starosti s chemickými postřiky. Po odkvětu je vhodné ostříhat suchá květenství. Nejenže tím zlepšíte vzhled celého porostu, ale rostlina nebude vysilována tvorbou semen a investuje energii do tvorby nových listů a výběžků. Rostlina se rozrůstá pomocí šlahounů, proto jí dopřejte dostatek prostoru, sázejte zhruba 9 až 12 kusů na metr čtvereční pro rychlé zapojení porostu.
Mrazuvzdornost a zimní efekt
Díky své vitalitě dokáže během krátké doby vytvořit souvislý porost, který v zimě neopadává (stálezelený efekt). Mrazuvzdornost je vynikající, snese teploty až k -34 °C, takže zimní ochrana není vůbec potřeba, a to ani v chladnějších oblastech. Rostlina spolehlivě přezimuje bez zakrývání chvojím.
Tipy pro pěstování v truhlících
Pokud nemáte zahradu, zběhovec 'Rosea' vám udělá radost i na balkoně či terase. Při pěstování v nádobách nebo truhlících dbejte na to, aby měl květináč odtokové otvory, a na dno dejte drenážní vrstvu z kamínků nebo keramzitu, aby kořeny nestály ve vodě. V omezeném prostoru nádoby živiny a voda docházejí rychleji, proto nezapomínejte na pravidelnou zálivku, a to i v zimě v bezmrazých dnech, pokud rostlina nemá sněhovou pokrývku. V nádobách funguje skvěle jako "výplňová" rostlina pod vyššími keříky nebo stromky na kmínku, kde svými listy zakryje holý substrát a zabrání jeho nadměrnému vysychání.

Zběhovec Catlin's Giant je skutečným obrem mezi půdopokryvnými trvalkami a výbornou volbou pro stinná zákoutí. The Czech Perennial Association chose autumn Anemones as the perennial of the season for 2022. They last 7 days in a vase. Whirlwind is a historical variety bred in 1887 in the USA. It has a semi-double pure white flower, often with inner twisted petals, and compact, strictly upright growth. The flowers are very durable.
