Collection of perennials, grasses, and annual seeds

Radiant Mix for Dahlias

A collection of perennials and annual seeds in brightly golden tones. They stand well on their own or as a balanced selection for all Dahlia lovers. They complement each other perfectly in blooming time and use for cutting. They can grow together in flower beds and even in sufficiently large containers. A fully sunny location, good nutrient-rich soil, and the ability to water during hot summer days are required. When planning, count on an average of six to seven perennials per m²; this always depends on the soil quality in your garden and your intentions. In nutrient-rich and sufficiently moist soil, perennials grow faster, so distances between them can be larger initially; in poorer conditions, it is better to plant more densely. The time you can devote to maintaining the bed will also be a deciding factor. With our collection, you can work creatively and adapt it to your needs and your garden. In your cart, you can easily adjust the number of plants as well as swap species or cultivars. For example, if you are already growing some of the perennials in this collection and only need to supplement your bed, you can keep only the selected species in your cart. If you do not wish to sow or grow annuals, you can keep only the perennials in your cart. Otherwise, you have an inspiring list of annual seeds available that, thanks to their blooming time, color, and diverse inflorescence shapes, fit perfectly with orange, yellow, and white Dahlias. Conditions and cultivation options for individual species can be found in their detailed descriptions. Show full description

Coreopsis Moonbeam, Loukykvět

Coreopsis verticillata

If you are looking for a delicate and long-blooming plant for full sun, whorled tickseed is a great choice. The basic species originates from North America, and here it thrives best in a sunny spot and well-drained, rather drier loamy soil. Although it is a short-lived perennial, with the right care and a well-chosen location, it can bring joy for several years. A distinctive feature of this species is its rich foliage of very tiny leaves, which form low, about forty-centimeter-tall bushes. After transplanting from the pot, the mature seedling is perfectly suited for the edges of flower beds or mixed drought-tolerant compositions, where it beautifully softens the overall look. In addition, the plant is fully frost-hardy, requires no special care, and is free from diseases. The 'Moonbeam' variety stands out with countless smaller, creamy-yellow flowers. These appear in mid-summer and continue to decorate the garden until early autumn, providing rich pasture for pollinators. You can easily cut the delicate stems with flowers to bring home. They will add an informal meadow touch to bouquets and will maintain their freshness in a vase for about seven days.

Agastache Alabaster, Loukykvět

Agastache rugosa f. albiflora

Agastache Alabaster, also known as wrinkled agastache, comes from regions of China and Japan, where it naturally grows in sunny and drier habitats. Its deep green toothed leaves resemble a nettle at first glance, but don't worry, it certainly doesn't sting. On the contrary, it will pleasantly surprise you, because when rubbed between your fingers, it releases a very pleasant minty-anise scent. Furthermore, these fragrant leaves and white flowers are edible, and you can use them to decorate summer dishes or drinks. You will receive an already mature seedling in a pot from us, which you just need to transplant directly into your garden, where it will bring joy for many years. It will thrive in full sun in well-drained, loamy or sandy soil. It is a stable, upright-growing perennial that reaches a height of eighty to one hundred centimeters in full vigor. During the summer and early autumn, roughly from July to the end of September, it produces dense spike-like inflorescences. These act as a reliable magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies, so your garden will gain a lot of useful life thanks to it. Agastache is a very hardy and robust plant that successfully handles our winters, as it tolerates frosts down to minus twenty-three degrees. At the same time, it is completely undemanding, naturally does not suffer from diseases or pests, and therefore its cultivation is easily managed even by complete beginners. It looks excellent in perennial beds when planted in larger groups, maintaining a spacing of about half a meter. For lovers of fresh flowers, Agastache is an incredibly rewarding choice for cutting into a vase. The freshly cut stems will last beautifully in your home for about seven days and bring a light spicy scent with them. The flowers are also floristically very interesting even after blooming, when the long inflorescences retain their firm structure. They can be easily dried and used in various dried arrangements or autumn decorations. The specific Alabaster cultivar stands out with the pure white color of its flowers. Thanks to this neutral and fresh shade, it looks very delicate and easily matches absolutely any color combination, whether directly in the flowerbed or later in a tied bouquet.

Rudbeckia Double Golden Daisies, Loukykvět

Rudbeckia hirta

These beauties love heat, which is why we associate them mainly with the end of summer and early autumn. Searing helps with vase life: dip freshly cut stems into 90°C water for 3 minutes and then immediately into cold water. One plant produces at least 5 stems. Double Golden Daisies is a gorgeous double-flowered variant.

Patrinia scabiosifolia, Loukykvět

Patrinia scabiosifolia

Patrinia is originally a wild East Asian perennial and herb, similar in appearance to our valerian. However, its flowers are chrome yellow, and the leaves resemble those of scabious. An interesting effect is the reddish coloring of the leaves in autumn. It combines beautifully with late summer and autumn perennials as well as grasses. It has its uses in traditional Chinese medicine. Due to its long vase life, it is excellent for cutting. It is also attractive to butterflies and bees and remains interesting even after flowering.

Red Valerian Snowcloud White, Loukykvět

Centranthus ruber

An unrivaled long flowering period and absolute low maintenance make valerian a plant that every grower will appreciate in their flowerbed. Valerian originates from the sunny Mediterranean, where it naturally colonizes dry and rocky places. In our country, therefore, it will most welcome full sun and well-drained loamy or sandy soil, in which it will easily survive even severe frosts below minus twenty degrees. We will deliver a fully grown seedling straight in a pot, from which a compact, airy bush around fifty centimeters to one meter tall will quickly grow after transplanting. The 'Snowcloud White' variety blooms purely white from spring to the first autumn days, and its fragrant flowers are a literal magnet for beneficial insects. The plant does not require support, pests avoid it, and it easily self-seeds, thereby compensating for its shorter lifespan. Its airy structure makes it an excellent addition to summer bouquets. Flowers harvested in the bud stage will stay fresh in a vase for about a week. Moreover, both flowers and leaves are completely edible, so you can use them to spice up cold summer dishes.
