Molinia forms low, hemispherical clumps of narrow leaves, from which strikingly tall flower stalks emerge in early summer. These can grow up to 180 cm and, like the leaves, change color in autumn to beautiful golden-yellow shades. The cultivar Karl Foerster stands out for its rigidly upright growth.
