Aster

Asters are among the most rewarding cut flowers we grow. They offer a huge range of shapes and colors, from soft powdery shades to rich tones. You can find varieties with fluffy full blooms as well as those with elegant, needle-like petals. The advantage of many annual asters is that they bloom while we are still waiting for the greatest autumn beauties. They serve perfectly in flower beds and vases as a beautiful precursor or complement, especially if you already know how to grow dahlias. What's more, some popular types of asters look very similar to them with their muted tones. Whether you are looking for smaller flowers as a filler or impressive dominant blooms for larger arrangements, asters won't disappoint. Just give them a sunny spot and harvest them regularly, which will directly encourage the production of more buds.

The Eastern Star White wood aster is a reliable perennial originating from North American forest clearings and forest edges. It thrives best in partial shade to shade, where it will appreciate ordinary well-draining and loamy soil. You will receive an already grown seedling in a pot from us, ready to be transplanted. It soon forms dense clumps of fresh green leaves and dark wiry stems. Despite its dense growth, it looks delicate and airy. During August and September, it blooms with a flood of white flowers with fewer petals, which bring light into shady corners and reliably attract bees. It is an exceptionally resilient plant for beginners that does not suffer from diseases and survives even harsh frosts dropping to minus twenty-eight degrees. Italian Aster, Loukykvět

Aster pilosus

The hairy aster is a true queen of late summer and autumn, blooming at a time when most other perennials are already going into winter dormancy. This originally North American beauty is characterized by its rich branching and a flood of tiny white flowers with yellow centers, which change color to purple over time. Thanks to its height of around 120 centimeters, it creates an airy effect in flower beds and literal clouds of flowers that stand out perfectly in natural or prairie-style plantings. Its species name refers to the fine hairs that cover its stems and leaves. For bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, it represents one of the last and very important sources of nectar before the arrival of winter. It is an exceptionally resilient and low-maintenance perennial that can handle even drier and poorer soils in full sun. Frost resistance down to -34 °C makes it a reliable part of the garden for many years. Moreover, its sturdy, woody stems are perfectly suited for cutting into autumn bouquets, where they stay fresh for a long time and add volume and lightness to arrangements.
