Cornflower

The Amethyst in Snow cornflower is an absolute unique among mountain cornflowers that will liven up every garden. While the classic mountain cornflower blooms blue, this cultivar offers a gorgeous contrast of pure white flowers with a dark purple center. The original species occurs in almost all mountainous areas of Central and Southern Europe on high-altitude meadows and light clearings, thanks to which the plant is extraordinarily resilient and fully frost-resistant. With its height around 40 to 50 centimeters, it excellently suits the edges of beds or into natural plantings, where it will apply in rural submontane gardens with other robust species. It spreads very well and can create a continuous stand over time. The flowers are not only beautiful to look at, but also edible, so you can safely decorate summer salads or desserts with them. If you want to transfer a piece of this beauty home, do not hesitate to cut it into a vase, where it will last fresh for about a week. It is a rewarding perennial for beginners, which does not suffer from diseases or pests and reliably attracts bees.
