Eupatorium maculatum
The 'Baby Joe' Joe-Pye weed is a robust and long-lived perennial that will bring a piece of wild nature to your garden. In its original distribution area, in the regions of southern Canada and northern USA, the basic species most often grows in moist meadows. Therefore, even in your garden, it will appreciate moister humous, loamy, or clayey soil and a location in the sun or partial shade. It will survive the winter here without the slightest problems, as it can withstand frosts down to minus thirty-four degrees. You will receive an already mature potted seedling from us, which you simply need to transplant to the chosen spot. There, it will soon form a dense clump of sturdy stems reaching a height of around seventy to ninety centimeters. 'Baby Joe' is much more compact compared to the original species and does not need support. From July to September, it will delight you with large flat inflorescences in a rich pink color, which beautifully contrasts with the dark green leaves. Furthermore, the entire plant smells pleasant and acts as a magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. In the garden, it functions as a striking solitary plant and does not suffer from any pests or diseases, so even complete beginners can handle its care. Moreover, Joe-Pye weed is perfectly suited for cutting into summer bouquets, where its distinctive pink flowers stay fresh for a long time, and you can also use it for drying into autumn arrangements.
