Eupatorium maculatum

The 'Baby Joe' Joe-Pye weed is a robust and long-lived perennial that will bring a piece of wild nature to your garden. In its original distribution area, in the regions of southern Canada and northern USA, the basic species most often grows in moist meadows. Therefore, even in your garden, it will appreciate moister humous, loamy, or clayey soil and a location in the sun or partial shade. It will survive the winter here without the slightest problems, as it can withstand frosts down to minus thirty-four degrees. You will receive an already mature potted seedling from us, which you simply need to transplant to the chosen spot. There, it will soon form a dense clump of sturdy stems reaching a height of around seventy to ninety centimeters. 'Baby Joe' is much more compact compared to the original species and does not need support. From July to September, it will delight you with large flat inflorescences in a rich pink color, which beautifully contrasts with the dark green leaves. Furthermore, the entire plant smells pleasant and acts as a magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. In the garden, it functions as a striking solitary plant and does not suffer from any pests or diseases, so even complete beginners can handle its care. Moreover, Joe-Pye weed is perfectly suited for cutting into summer bouquets, where its distinctive pink flowers stay fresh for a long time, and you can also use it for drying into autumn arrangements.

Eupatorium rugosum

Joe-Pye weed 'Braunlaub' is an unmissable moisture-loving perennial that brings a touch of wild nature into the garden. This species originates from the bright, moist forests of North America, which is why it prospers best here in humus-rich, loamy soil. It is perfectly suited for planting on pond banks in stably moist soil. Customers will receive an already grown seedling in a pot from us, which simply needs to be transplanted into partial shade or even full sun. It is an undemanding species suitable for beginners, it does not suffer from diseases or pests, and it can easily withstand frosts dropping to minus thirty-four degrees. The 'Braunlaub' cultivar stands out with its dark green leaves, which are interestingly brownish underneath. During the summer and early autumn, clouds of tiny, aromatic white flowers appear on sturdy stems, literally acting as a magnet for bees and other pollinators. If you like tying summer bouquets, you will fall in love with Joe-Pye weed. The firm stems are excellent for cutting and last very long fresh in a vase.
