Eupatorium maculatum
This robust perennial comes from the southern parts of Canada and the northern USA, where it grows in wet meadows. It forms a dense clump of sturdy stems. The flowers are composed into large flat inflorescences and are an irresistible attraction for bees and butterflies. In gardens, they create striking solitary features. They are long-lived and last in one spot for several decades. Joe-Pye weed Album has fluffy creamy-white inflorescences.
