The original wild species of this Joe-Pye weed grows in the wet meadows of southern parts of Canada and the northern USA. It is a sturdy, long-lived, and reliable perennial that can easily last several decades in the garden. You will receive a mature seedling in a pot from us, which you just need to transplant directly into the flowerbed. It thrives in the sun or partial shade and prefers humous, loamy to clayey soil with plenty of moisture. It does not suffer from diseases or pests and can handle frosts down to minus thirty-four degrees, so even beginners can easily grow it. The Purple Bush variety was bred by landscape architect Piet Oudolf as a more compact version of this otherwise very tall species. It grows to a meter and a half, forms a dense clump of firm dark green leaves, and has striking maroon-red stems. From July to September, it bears large, airy inflorescences in pink and purple tones. The flowers are fragrant and act as a magnet for bees and butterflies. Joe-Pye weed looks great as a prominent specimen plant or in the background of perennial borders. Sadec Purple Bush je mimořádně spolehlivá a dlouhověká trvalka, kterou bez problémů zvládnou vypěstovat i naprostí začátečníci. Jelikož vám dodáme již silnou a vzrostlou sazenici, můžete se rovnou pustit do výsadby na trvalé stanoviště. V zahradě poroste nejlépe na vlhčích místech s dostatkem slunce. V horkém létě bude ráda za odpolední stín stromů nebo vyšších keřů. Této rostlině naprosto vyhovuje těžší humózní, hlinitá až jílovitá půda, která dokáže dobře zadržovat tolik potřebnou vláhu. Při výsadbě pamatujte na to, že sadec dorůstá úctyhodné výšky 100 až 150 centimetrů a tvoří opravdu bohaté trsy. Ideální je proto dodržet spon zhruba 80 cm, což odpovídá výsadbě jedné až dvou rostlin na metr čtvereční, aby měl tmavě zelený listový aparát dostatek prostoru a vzduchu.\n\nTato trvalka je doslova milovníkem vody, takže v sušších obdobích vyžaduje opravdu vydatnou zálivku. Na druhou stranu vás potěší tím, že netrpí na žádné choroby ani škůdce. Běžné hnojení není nutné, stačí na jaře k rostlině přidat trochu kvalitního kompostu. Vzhledem k jejím rozměrům a vysokým nárokům na vlhkost není vhodná pro pěstování v nádobách nebo truhlících. Její kořenový systém potřebuje volnou půdu, kde se dokáže plně rozvinout a kde rostlina vydrží růst po desítky let. Pro kompaktnější růst můžeme stonky sadce na přelomu května a června o třetinu až polovinu zakrátit. O přezimování se vůbec nemusíte bát, rostlina je extrémně mrazuvzdorná a hravě zvládne teploty až do -34 °C. Mějte jen na paměti, že sadec patří mezi jedovaté rostliny, a proto by měl sloužit výhradně pro potěchu oka.

Lesser calamint Blue Cloud is an undemanding and modest perennial that reliably perfumes any sunny garden. Its original homeland is the sunny and dry slopes of Southern Europe, which is why it thrives best here in direct sun in well-drained, sandy, or poorer loamy soil. It handles winter without problems, tolerating frosts down to minus twenty-three degrees. You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which you just need to transplant straight into the flowerbed, where it will very soon form a compact, airy small shrub reaching a height of up to forty centimeters. It does not suffer from any diseases or pests, so even complete beginners can easily handle caring for it. Throughout late summer and into autumn, it blooms with a record number of tiny blue flowers that are so typical of the Blue Cloud variety. The whole plant emits a pleasant minty-spicy scent, and its flowers, which resemble thyme, act as a literal magnet for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look great among roses or in naturally designed steppe flowerbeds, where it naturally complements lower ornamental grasses. It forms smaller, compact, airy bushes that release a minty-spicy scent. The thyme-like flowers attract bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. It will look good among roses as well as in naturalistic steppe beds, perhaps with lower grasses. This calamint is generally more vigorous. It differs from other calamints with felted leaves by its record flowering length, stiff and shiny leaves, and also a larger number of flowers that do not form seeds and are therefore maximally durable.
