Mallow

Mallow is a low-maintenance native perennial that brings a touch of softness and rustic romance to your garden. It was highly valued in the past; in the 16th century, it was even considered a cure-all, and both its leaves and flowers were commonly added to food. Today, we grow it primarily for its charming flowers and its ability to quickly fill in empty spaces.

It thrives best in sunny spots with well-drained, somewhat poor soil. This makes it an ideal choice for the drier parts of the garden where other plants might struggle. Thanks to its adaptability, it requires almost no special care. It can handle occasional drought and blooms abundantly throughout the summer, attracting bees and other beneficial insects to your flower beds.

Malva moschata

Musk mallow is an undemanding native perennial that will charm you with its gently fragrant, light pink flowers. In the past, it was highly valued; in the 16th century, it was even considered a panacea, and its leaves, flowers, or unripe seeds were commonly consumed as vegetables. Today, we appreciate it in gardens mostly for its ability to quickly fill empty spaces in newly established plantings. It looks impressive already in its first season, drawing attention while other perennials are still slowly gathering strength. Although it is a short-lived perennial, it reliably maintains itself in its location through self-seeding, so you will enjoy its presence for many years. It loves sunny spots with well-drained, even poorer soil. The tender flowers attract bees and other pollinators, and they are also perfectly suited for cutting into summer bouquets.
