Pěstování slézu pižmového 'Appleblossom' je radost i pro úplné začátečníky, protože tato sazenice vám odpustí i drobné prohřešky v péči. Klíčem k úspěchu je především výběr správného stanoviště. Rostlina vyžaduje plné slunce, kde se jí bude dařit nejlépe a pokvete nejbohatěji, ale snese i mírný polostín. Půda by měla být především dobře propustná, spíše chudší a sušší. Sléz bytostně nesnáší přemokření, které by mohlo vést k uhnívání kořenů, proto se vyhněte těžkým jílovitým půdám nebo místům, kde se drží voda. Pokud máte na zahradě těžší zeminu, určitě před výsadbou přimíchejte písek nebo drobný štěrk pro zlepšení drenáže. Sazenice sázejte do sponu zhruba 50 cm od sebe, aby kolem nich mohl proudit vzduch, což je důležitá prevence proti houbovým chorobám, jako je rez slezová, na kterou může být rostlina náchylná.
Jakmile si sazenici přinesete domů, vysaďte ji co nejdříve. Po výsadbě rostlinu důkladně zalijte, aby se kořeny dobře spojily s okolní půdou. V prvních týdnech dbejte na to, aby kořenový bal zcela nevyschl, ale jakmile rostlina zakoření, stává se velmi odolnou vůči suchu a zálivku vyžaduje jen v období déletrvajících veder. Hnojení není v podstatě nutné; příliš mnoho živin by vedlo spíše k bujnému růstu listů na úkor květů. Sléz 'Appleblossom' je sice krátkověká trvalka, ale na stanovišti se spolehlivě udržuje samovýsevem. Aby rostlina během sezóny vypadala stále svěže a opakovaně kvetla, doporučujeme ji po prvním odkvětu (zpravidla v červenci) seříznout. Krásně zhoustne, vytvoří nové listy a znovu nakvete až do podzimu. Na zimu není třeba žádná speciální ochrana, rostlina je plně mrazuvzdorná až do -28 °C.
Pokud nemáte zahradu, sléz 'Appleblossom' můžete úspěšně pěstovat i v nádobách či truhlících na slunném balkoně či terase. V takovém případě je nutné zajistit opravdu kvalitní odtok vody. Na dno květináče dejte vrstvu keramzitu nebo štěrku a použijte substrát pro balkonové rostliny smíchaný s pískem. Rostliny v nádobách jsou náchylnější na vysychání než ty ve volné půdě, proto je v horkých letních dnech pravidelně kontrolujte a zalévejte, ale nikdy je nenechávejte stát ve vodě v podmisce.
