Gaura lindheimeri

The charming Gaura 'Whirling Butterflies' is exactly the perennial that will give any flower bed a relaxed, natural look. It originally comes from the dry and hot plains of southern North America, which clearly suggests that it loves sunshine and well-drained sandy soil. You will receive from us a beautifully grown seedling in a pot, which you can simply transplant straight into the garden. Here, it will soon form a dense clump of green leaves, from which long, thin stems dotted with flowers emerge all summer until October. These flowers open in a pure white color and gradually take on a slight pinkish tone. Furthermore, the abundant blooming reliably attracts pollinators, for whom the plant is a great source of food. It can handle even stronger frosts down to minus eighteen degrees. It looks excellent in mixed plantings next to drought-tolerant grasses or other undemanding species. Although it is a short-lived perennial, it willingly self-seeds, meaning it will stay with you in its location for a very long time. If you like creating fresh summer bouquets, Gaura will definitely not disappoint you. You just need to cut the stems the moment the first small flowers open. It is a completely undemanding species without serious diseases, which needs no support and will forgive even beginner mistakes.

Gaura lindheimeri

Gaura is a clump-forming perennial native to Texas and Louisiana. Here, it behaves more like a short-lived perennial. It combines beautifully with grasses and adds lightness and airiness to flower beds. It is excellent pasture for insects. Tiny flowers resembling small butterflies bloom tirelessly from June until the first frosts. For bouquets, harvest as soon as the first two or three flowers on the stem open. The pure white blooming Cool Breeze has no hint of pink like other varieties. The flowers have greenish-white stamens, and the buds are also greenish-white. It grows more compactly than other Gauras.

Gaura lindheimeri

Gaura 'Graceful Blush' brings an unrepeatable lightness and dynamic to summer and autumn flower beds. This clump-forming perennial, originally from the hot prairies of Texas and Louisiana, is perfect for sunny positions with well-drained, sandy soil. Although it often behaves as a short-lived perennial in our conditions, in a suitable location it reliably self-seeds and thus maintains itself in the garden for many years. The tiny pink flowers resemble flocks of small butterflies and bloom tirelessly from July to October. 'Graceful Blush' is a more compact cultivar reaching a height of 30 to 40 centimeters, making it an ideal plant for bed edges or container growing. In flower beds, gaura combines perfectly with ornamental grasses, providing them with a color accent, and is also a magnet for bees and other beneficial insects. The flowers are also suitable for cutting; we cut them for the vase the moment the first buds open, so they bring us joy at home for as long as possible.

Gaura lindheimeri

Gaura is a clump-forming perennial whose original homeland is the sunny plains of Texas and Louisiana. Here, it is grown as a reliable and low-maintenance short-lived perennial that loves full sun and well-drained, rather poor sandy soil. It handles drought excellently and survives frosts down to -18 degrees. Once you transplant this grown seedling into your flower bed, it will quickly form a clump of green leaves. From July to October, sturdy stems with tiny white flowers that resemble small fluttering butterflies grow from it. During its blooming period, it is a massive attraction for pollinators. It looks very natural in flower beds and adds extraordinary airiness to them. It perfectly complements ornamental grasses. It is a rewarding choice even for beginners; it doesn't suffer from diseases, and there's no need to pinch gaura back. Although it is a short-lived perennial, it willingly self-seeds. It is excellently suited for cutting into summer bouquets. We cut the stems when the first two or three flowers open. The 'Geyser White' variety stands out with a more compact growth, reaching a height of thirty to fifty centimeters. Its stems are noticeably sturdier, do not flop over, and offer a rich flood of pure white flowers.
