Scabiosa caucasica

Scabiosa Fama White

A beautiful perennial that we love on the farm not only for its large petals but also for its round seed heads suitable for drying. Although smaller than the starflower Scabiosa, it is ideal for arrangements. Bees and bumblebees also can't get enough of this perennial! Just be careful, it doesn't like high humidity as it risks rotting, so it is better suited for a semi-dry, sunny location. For drying, we harvest mature seed heads, roughly from mid-July. Just hang them upside down, in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight. Show full description

Eryngium planum

An evergreen favorite at the flower market! Sea Holly is a perennial; it lasts for several years in the flowerbed and spreads beautifully. And mature, bloomed Sea Holly doesn't wilt, making it great for drying, wreaths, and similar uses. For drying, harvest when the thistles are colored blue and the stem below the thistle is firm. Just hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Cultivation

The information given is based on our experience, please use it as a guide only. Times may vary depending on the season, climate, location, sowing and transplanting dates and possibly also the conditions in the greenhouse/greenhouse. We always recommend testing how the plant performs in your conditions. Please do not take this as a guarantee.
