Thymus mastichina
A peculiarity among thymes. It got its name from the shape of the striking fluffy inflorescences that bloom during May and June. It is a source of valuable essential oils and has its use in aromatherapy. Its scent combines a marjoram aroma with notes of liquorice and eucalyptus. In beds, it applies best in the company of similarly drought-loving Mediterranean species.
