Eryngium planum

An evergreen favorite at the flower market! Sea Holly is a perennial; it lasts for several years in the flowerbed and spreads beautifully. The "flowers" and leaves are slightly prickly; it does look like a miniature thistle after all. The stems and tops are silvery blue. And mature, bloomed Sea Holly doesn't wilt, making it great for drying, wreaths, and similar uses. For drying, harvest when the thistles are colored blue and the stem below the thistle is firm. Just hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Eucalyptus cinerea

Eucalyptus (also known as gum tree) is one of the most requested greens and fillers in floristry ever, it is trendy! The color is silvery blue-green, which is such a combination that we are not surprised by its popularity at all. Eucalyptus Silver "Dollar" grows beautifully tall, the branches are more sparsely built. The leaves are larger and round in shape. The color of Silver Dollar is more silvery and thus in floristry fits rather into colder color combinations. For drying, we harvest as soon as the tips of the twigs are mature and the last leaves are firm. Just hang them upside down, in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Limonium sinuatum

Statice is a classic from grandma's garden, but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We grow statice by the hundreds! It is incredibly useful in bouquets as filler material and even undried lasts a long time in a vase. Once all the florets on the stem bloom, statice no longer wilts and is suitable for wreaths, corsages, boutonnieres. QIS Pastel is a beautiful sample of colors in tones of blue, violet, lavender and pink. One plant produces at least 15 stems. For drying, we harvest statice at the stage when the stem under the flower is firm and the entire inflorescence has bloomed. Just hang them upside down, in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Helichrysum bracteatum

A divine cocktail of sunset colors. From light champagne and apricot to salmon. The Strawflower is a classic from grandma's garden but also a staple for dried flowers. We love using them for weddings because they don't wilt. They are suitable for corsages, wreaths, and buttonholes. For drying, harvest flowers that are not yet fully open, when the yellow center is not yet visible. Also check the stem below the flower; it should already be firm, not 'rubbery'. Just hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place out of direct sunlight.

Scabiosa stellata

Some flower species look great even after blooming, and we harvest them on the farm too. But Scabiosa, Scabiosa is so beautiful that there is even a species not grown for the flower, but for drying as a pod. Scabiosa stellata blooms white, but it pays to persist and not harvest the flowers; what comes after them is much more beautiful than the flower. At the end of straight and strong stems are seeds arranged in a perfect little ball. Suitable for drying. For drying, we harvest mature seed heads, roughly from mid-July. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Helichrysum bracteatum

Strawflower is a classic from grandma's garden but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We love using them when binding weddings because they don't wilt. They fit into corsages, wreaths, and buttonholes. Shades of cream and white. For drying, we harvest flowers that are not yet fully open, when the yellow center cannot be seen yet. At the same time, we look at the stem under the flower; it should already be firm, not "rubbery". Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, away from sunlight.

Echinops ritro

Although it's named blue, it's a shade of steel blue. Globe thistle is a perennial, but growing it is no hard work! It blooms in May to June, but we recommend harvesting even before it blooms; that's when it's most beautiful! For drying, we harvest when the thistles are colored but before they bloom. Otherwise, they tend to fall apart after drying. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, away from sunlight.

Helipterum roseum

Paper daisy is our novelty this year and we like it very much! The plants are not very tall, 30-45 cm. It looks a bit like an anemone thanks to its dark centers and white petals. The flowers are smaller in size and straw-like, so they hold beautifully in wreaths, circlets, or other wedding pieces and do not wilt! For drying, we harvest flowers fully open, but not "overblown"; the centers of the flowers must not be turning brown. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, away from sunlight.

Setaria italica

Millet is used in bird feed, but we discovered that it is a beautiful cut flower! If you plant it in the garden for decoration, you can feed the local birds with it right away. The spikes are large and compact with 'buns' full of fruits and grains. The spike bends, which creates an interesting effect in bouquets. For drying, we harvest when the buds are just starting to open. In full bloom, the flower heads fall apart. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.

Ammobium alatum

'Grandiflorum' might suggest something large, but the opposite is true; Ammobium is one of the tiniest flowers we grow on the farm. The plant isn't very tall, maximum 45 cm, but each one will give you 10 to 15 stems with tiny white stars at the ends. Once opened, the flowers are bright yellow. The florets resemble a Strawflower and dry just as well. For drying, we recommend harvesting at the bud stage, but if you dry already opened yellow flowers, you get an interesting white-brown combination that is also worth it. It fits perfectly into wedding floristry, especially wreaths, because it doesn't wilt. For drying, we harvest it the moment the first flowers open. The yellow center of the flower shouldn't be too protruding yet. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.

Carthamus tinctorius

Safflower is a cut flower you must have! We tried it for the first time this year and it is a great piece. The stems are firm, thick, and woody. They grow beautifully straight, wonderful for binding. Safflower can also be used unbloomed in the form of buds, like neutral green thistles. The flowers are prickly, but the stems and leaves are not, so it doesn't bother you when cleaning material and binding. Well, one could talk about Safflower for a long time, simply a perfect piece. 'Zanzibar' is an orange variegated variant. For drying, we harvest colored buds. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, away from sunlight.

Craspedia globosa

A cut flower perfectly suited for the job, but it looks famous in the flowerbed too! Craspedia forms a basal rosette of greyish, inconspicuous leaves, from which "antennae" peek out. Straight, strong stems have yellow balls at the ends. We recommend harvesting in the bud form, before they fully bloom. Green ones are also interesting, as they are neutral and fit into any color combination. For drying, harvest when they are colored up. Just hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Gomphrena globosa

Warm pink, that is the shade of 'QIS Rose'. We love all flowers here that grow ready to be dried and are suitable for wedding crafting or any kind of arranging. And Globe amaranth belongs to this group. It is not a cut flower that breaks records. Its advantage lies in the flower, which is tiny and straw-like. For drying, we harvest colored, round heads in full bloom. Once the inflorescence starts to elongate, it is too late for drying. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, away from sunlight.

Lunaria annua

Dried, they look the same. However, the purple one has fresh pods that are dark green with a hint of burgundy. A classic of dried flowers; our grandmothers had gardens full of honesty. It blooms in spring just like sweet rocket or columbine, but the flowers aren't suitable for cutting. It pays to wait, and in summer you can harvest the first fruits. Honesty creates seeds wrapped in beautiful oval pods. We recommend harvesting them even when green; they look beautiful in bouquets! For drying, we harvest pods from which the seed casings are already naturally falling off. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Lepidium sativum

The cress blooms beautifully and gently; after blooming, it creates wonderful tiny coins on the stems and is suitable for drying! It is the same type of cress as for sprouting, so you can use it in both ways! The basic type of cress, it is also the shortest of all in our assortment. But don't worry, it is long enough for cutting! For drying, we harvest the cress when the stem is firm with mature coins. Do not delay drying too long for a beautiful golden color, otherwise the color turns grey. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.
