Nigella damascena originates from the Mediterranean and North Africa and has been naturalized in our gardens for centuries. The 'Miss Jekyll Rose' cultivar brings a romantic mood with its unique flowers in shades of raspberry, fuchsia, and pure white. Its finely cut leaves resemble dill and give the entire plant an amazingly airy appearance. This undemanding annual grows to a height of fifty to one hundred centimeters and forms dense patches in the flowerbed. It thrives best in sun or partial shade with regular watering. Sown directly into the bed during the spring months or at the end of summer, it grows reliably and will soon delight you with a flood of flowers blooming from May to August. Nigella is absolutely ideal for cutting into summer bouquets, where its full blooms stay fresh for many days. It also serves a great purpose after flowering. Its inflated, bladder-like seed pods with burgundy stripes are highly prized for drying in winter arrangements. Simply cut them and hang them upside down. Moreover, the flowers are full of nectar and are regularly visited by bees and other beneficial pollinators.

Large double flowers are missing at the turn of spring and summer. The last Ranunculus finish blooming and there is plenty of time before the first Dahlias arrive. On our farm, it was always a struggle to find beautiful, full, and large flowers for bouquets at that time. But we succeeded! We filled the void with China asters and peony-flowered Poppies. These Poppies reliably replace peonies, Ranunculus, and Dahlias. Just keep in mind that they don't last long and need a little care to last in a bouquet. We harvest when the bud cracks, sear the ends of the stems in water for a few seconds, and let them finish opening in the vase. Peony Poppy Salmon is a warm pink color.

Koukol polní býval běžnou součástí našich polí, ze kterých se sice vytratil, ale dnes se opět vrací do okrasných zahrad. Odrůda Light Rose vyniká něžnými pastelově růžovými květy, které se otevírají postupně od května až do konce srpna. Tato letnička dorůstá do výšky šedesáti až sto dvaceti centimetrů, a proto jí v záhonu dopřejte vhodnou oporu, aby se tenké stonky ve větru nezlomily. Jemný vzhled koukolu skvěle ladí s dalšími lučními květinami a propůjčuje výsadbám přirozený, uvolněný ráz. Nejlépe se mu daří na plném slunci nebo v lehkém polostínu, kde jeho květy tvoří lákadlo pro drobné opylovače. Přímý výsev do půdy se provádí od března do května, a pokud chcete kvetení urychlit pro další rok, můžete vysévat i koncem léta v srpnu a září. Semínka ke klíčení potřebují tmu, je tedy nutné je jemně zakrýt zeminou. Při teplotě kolem šestnácti až osmnácti stupňů vyklíčí během jednoho až dvou týdnů. Koukol si rychle oblíbíte jako výbornou květinu k řezu, protože ve váze působí velmi lehce a provzdušní každé aranžmá.

Icelandic poppies belong among our most favorite items ever! The delicate silky flowers give a light and airy impression whether in a bouquet, vase, or flower bed. In wedding floristry, there is no flower that matches them in texture and appearance. They like low temperatures, so we grow them only in spring. But believe us, you will miss them terribly all year until the next spring! One plant produces at least 12 flowers. Colibri Rosa "Chiaro Pastello" are delicate shades of skin-tone, champagne, apricot, and peach. A gem!

Interesting greenery and a classic cut flower. It looks curious, and perhaps that is exactly why it is grown. The long stems are covered in small light green cups. It belongs to the Lamiaceae family, which you can recognize immediately by its typical scent.

A beautiful perennial that we love on the farm not only for its large petals but also for its round seed heads suitable for drying. Although smaller than the starflower Scabiosa, it is ideal for arrangements. Bees and bumblebees also can't get enough of this perennial! Just be careful, it doesn't like high humidity as it risks rotting, so it is better suited for a semi-dry, sunny location. For drying, we harvest mature seed heads, roughly from mid-July. Just hang them upside down, in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Chabaud carnations are one of the most beautiful novelties of the year. We are over the moon! Surprisingly, you get a great result from early winter sowing in that very same year; no need to wait. The flowers are smaller, but they make up for it with their color shades! 'La France' is a delicate powder pink. A gem!

Our Lenka used to bring Centranthus to us for wedding bouquets from her own garden, until we decided to grow it on our farm too. It is an undemanding piece, it prefers a sunny spot. The stems are fleshy and the inflorescence resembles oregano. For us, a great filler piece for bouquets. Color raspberry to pink.

Greenery is a must! And Amaranthus is our evergreen. Coral Fountain is a cultivar of Amaranthus caudatus whose tassels don't grow upright, but instead cascade to the ground like a waterfall. And a coral-colored waterfall at that! It fits perfectly into bouquets, even if used in small amounts. It also looks interesting in a garden bed; it's definitely an annual that adds a special effect. Each plant produces one strong stem and up to five weaker side stems.
