Burnet is a hardy meadow plant that grows naturally in damp meadows and along streams. Although some varieties grow quite tall, they have an incredibly light and airy feel in the garden. From dense clumps of pinnate leaves, branched stems emerge in midsummer, topped with tiny flower heads shaped like cylinders or little clubs.
These flowers, which sway gently in the wind, bring movement and dynamics to perennial flowerbeds. You can choose from many shades here with us, from deep wine red to vintage pink or pure white. Burnets fit perfectly into naturally designed gardens, where they complement ornamental grasses and other summer perennials.
They thrive best in sunny spots with plenty of moisture, but they can also handle partial shade. They are long-lived and low-maintenance plants that reliably attract insects with their flowers. You can also confidently use the taller varieties for cutting to create original bouquets.
