Corncockle Ocean Pearls

Show full description

Saponaria vaccaria

An interesting name and an unusual flower resembling a bride's veil. The abundant blooms on their stems invite you to divide them into several smaller vases and adorn your windowsill. They fade quickly, so we recommend several successive sowings. You'll harvest 3-4 stems from one plant.

Orlaya likes low temperatures, so it's a purely spring and autumn beauty. It adds a fresh and airy effect to all bouquets, and the same goes for garden beds. The flowers are composed of individual tiny florets resembling lace, which is why we use it instead of baby's breath. "Casablanca" is a larger Orlaya, the plants are taller and more robust, the stems firmer, and it doesn't fade as quickly. Nevertheless, we recommend multiple sowings rather than just one.

A classic among Nigellas, a rich sky-blue shade. Nigella is a spring beauty, but its fruits are also excellent for harvesting, so it will last in the flowerbed until summer.

A newcomer to the cornflower family. One of these plants accidentally bloomed in our blue cornflower bed last year, and we immediately started looking for it to cultivate. It's a very unusual shade of deep raspberry.

Helichrysum bracteatum

This one has been with us for a long time. Light pink combined with creamy white. Each flower has a different distribution and combination of these two colors. Strawflower is a classic from grandma's garden and an evergreen for dried flowers. We love using them for wedding arrangements because they don't wilt. Perfect for corsages, wreaths, and boutonnieres.

Delphinium consolida

Larkspurs are spring beauties that are unparalleled. But if you want to harvest them for cut flowers, you must be vigilant and harvest quickly before all the buds open. Especially in the warm springs of recent years, they fade quickly, so we sow several batches 14 days apart to even manage the harvest. Delphinium QIS Light Pink is a beautiful, very light shade of warm pink. From one plant, you'll harvest one thicker main stem and 4-5 smaller side shoots.

Dianthus caryophyllus

Chabaud carnations are one of the most beautiful novelties of the year. We are absolutely thrilled! Surprisingly, you'll get great results from an early winter sowing in the same year; there's no need to wait. The flowers are smaller, but they make up for it with their color shades! La France is a delicate powdery pink. A gem!

Scabiosa atropurpurea

Different textures and sizes of flowers are perfect for a flower bed. And Scabiosa is a great candidate! Small flowers the size of a twenty-crown coin, straight stems with a basal rosette, and individual buds resembling beads. QIS White is a light creamy white shade.

Cultivation

U koukolu doporučujeme přímý výsev přímo na záhon. Sejeme ven, jakmile půda rozmrzne a dá se s ní pracovat. U nás na farmě už v březnu. Sejeme mělce a lehce zakryjeme zeminou. Udržujeme vlhké a jakmile mají rostliny první opravdové lístky, můžeme vyjednotit.

Koukol má ráda nízké teploty, na jaře stihnete 2-3 výsevy 2-3 týdny od sebe, pak už je na něj moc horko. Další možnost je sít na podzim, přezimuje a kvete na jaře o to dříve.

The information given is based on our experience, please use it as a guide only. Times may vary depending on the season, climate, location, sowing and transplanting dates and possibly also the conditions in the greenhouse/greenhouse. We always recommend testing how the plant performs in your conditions. Please do not take this as a guarantee.
