A selection of the most resilient yet delicate and refined species for hot spots in full sun. They are forgiving if you occasionally delay watering, but they make uncompromising demands for plenty of sunshine. Due to their delicate nature, they are perfectly suited for container gardening.
You can plant several pieces or species together in containers, or use your favorites as unique focal points in individual pots or window boxes. Do not skimp on container sizes; only in sufficiently spacious pots can you ensure balanced and stable conditions for the plants. Also, don't forget a drainage layer. Our tips for growing individual species in pots can be found in the detailed information for each specific perennial. However, container gardening is not a requirement, and you can plant our selection in a standard garden bed and combine it with our other collections.
When planning such a bed, count on an average of six to seven perennials per m², though this always depends on the soil quality in your garden and your goals. In nutritious and sufficiently moist soil, perennials will grow faster and the distances between them can be larger to start; in poorer conditions, it is better to plant more densely. The time you can dedicate to bed maintenance will also be a deciding factor.
Our collection allows you to be creative and adapt it to your needs and your garden. You can easily adjust the number of plants as well as species and cultivar substitutions in your cart. For example, if you are already growing some of the perennials in this collection and only need to supplement your collection, you can keep only the chosen species in your cart. Conversely, when shopping in the autumn, you can take advantage of available bulbs and order the complete collection including ornamental bulbs and alliums, which will provide your bed with structural and color variability.

Feather grass flowers capture attention in beds and bouquets with their lightness and delicacy. All feather grasses love full sun and dry, stony, well-drained soil. To look most natural in beds, it is good to plant them in loose groups of several pieces together with other drought-loving perennials and bulbs. Only then do their stems and inflorescences, set in motion by the slightest breath of wind, truly stand out. Stipa 'Ponny Tails' is a species native to the steppes of Mexico, Texas, and Patagonia. Airy, dense clumps of hair-like delicate leaves resemble horsehair. The leaves are green, turning up to straw-colored towards the flowers. In a suitable location, it also self-seeds.

Gaura Siskiyou Pink
Gaura Siskiyou Pink is a charming perennial that brings lightness and airiness to the garden. Its original native area is in the warm regions of Texas and Louisiana, which is why it thrives in full sun and well-drained sandy soil. It grows in clumps and from June until the autumn frosts produces tiny raspberry-pink flowers that resemble fluttering butterflies. An interesting detail of this variety is the green leaves with a bronze tint and red spots. It is an absolutely undemanding plant, does not suffer from diseases or pests, and even beginners can handle its care. You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which you simply need to transplant directly into the flowerbed. Here it complements ornamental grasses perfectly and acts as an attraction for bees and bumblebees. Although it grows more as a short-lived perennial in our climate, in a suitable place it reliably self-seeds. Occasional pinching will encourage richer branching. Gaura is excellent for summer bouquets. We cut the stems for a vase as soon as the first two to three little flowers open.

Allium roseum
Allium roseum
Allium roseum comes from the sunny Mediterranean, where it grows naturally in dry steppe communities. Green leaves sprout from the bulbs in early spring, and by the end of May, delicate star-shaped flowers begin to open on thirty to forty-centimeter-tall upright stems. They are arranged in approximately seven-centimeter-wide inflorescences in a beautiful light pink shade. With their delicate fragrance, they act as a reliable lure for bees and other beneficial pollinators. In gardens, Allium roseum looks absolutely magical in the company of drought-tolerant ornamental grasses and various herbs, to which it adds lightness and color. It is a low-maintenance perennial that naturally retreats back into the bulb after flowering in the summer to gather strength for the following year. You can freely harvest its edible flowers to garnish food or for bouquets. Freshly cut stems can keep you happy in a vase for a good two weeks.

Dropwort is our native drought-tolerant perennial that, thanks to its tuberously thickened roots, easily copes with even very dry locations. In nature, you will find it on sunlit slopes and dry meadows, making it an ideal choice for gravel beds or natural-style gardens where you don't have to worry too much about watering. It forms basal rosettes of finely divided, fern-like leaves, from which stems carrying rich inflorescences emerge in June and July.
Floristically valuable are its fragrant milky white to creamy inflorescences, which attract a large number of bees and other insects. The flowers have a pleasant scent and stay fresh in a vase for about a week. The buds themselves are already highly decorative, looking like tiny pearls before blooming, and they also put on a great show after flowering when they turn into small stars. The plant is fully frost-hardy and absolutely undemanding to grow.
