A collection for planting containers as well as flower beds in fresh partial shade and shade. For all the lucky owners of east-facing terraces and balconies. The selected color palette is not accidental—the color white reliably brightens even the shadiest corner and combines perfectly with any other color. Good soil and the ability to water are requirements for these species.
In containers, you can plant several pieces and species together or use your favorites as unique solitaires in individual flower pots or a window box. Do not skimp on the size of the containers; only in sufficiently large pots can you ensure consistent and stable conditions for the plants. Don't forget the drainage layer. Our tips for growing individual species in pots can be found in the detailed information about specific perennials. However, container gardening is not a requirement, and our selection can also be planted in a standard flower bed and combined with our other collections.
When planning such a bed, count on an average of six to seven perennials per m²; this always depends on the soil quality in your garden and your intentions. In nutrient-rich and sufficiently moist soil, perennials grow faster, so distances between them can be larger initially; in poorer conditions, it is better to plant more densely. The time you can devote to maintaining the bed will also be a deciding factor.
With our collection, you can work creatively and adapt it to your needs and your garden. In your cart, you can easily adjust the number of plants as well as swap species or cultivars. For example, if you are already growing some of the perennials in this collection and only need to supplement your collection, you can keep only the selected species in your cart. During autumn purchases, you can take advantage of available bulbs and order the complete collection including ornamental bulbs and garlics, which will ensure shape and color variability for your bed.

Most daffodils have a bright orange or deep yellow center, but lately, more muted pastel colors have become increasingly popular. The Palmares daffodil is exactly the hit you've been looking for if you want something a little different. We explore every powdery, salmon, and apricot-colored daffodil we can get our hands on, and this cultivar absolutely charmed us. Although it is a simple daffodil, its center is made up of beautifully ruffled petals in a soft peach shade. Thanks to this detail, the entire flower has an unexpectedly rich appearance, softened by pure white outer petals. From the large bulbs you receive from us and plant directly into the soil, strong flowers will emerge in the spring. During April and May, these thirty to forty-centimeter-tall beauties will brighten up any sunny or semi-shaded spot in your garden. Palmares is a long-lived perennial and stands out in group plantings. In addition to its ornamental function outdoors, it is perfect for creating cut bouquets, to which it brings an elegant spring mood.

Japanese Anemone Whirlwind
Anemones come from the same family as buttercups. With their elegant flowers on long slender stems, they can liven up and brighten late summer and autumn beds. They stand out against the darker background of shrub groups and will also be grateful for their partial shade. The Czech Perennial Association chose autumn Anemones as the perennial of the season for 2022. They last 7 days in a vase. Whirlwind is a historical variety bred in 1887 in the USA. It has a semi-double pure white flower, often with inner twisted petals, and compact, strictly upright growth. The flowers are very durable.

The bluebell is a beautiful bulbous plant native to southwestern Europe, where it grows in light deciduous forests. Multiple leaves grow from the bulb, but usually only one flower stalk. In the right location, the plant propagates well by itself via daughter bulbs and seeds, creating colonies. It blooms in May and June. The leaves die back soon after flowering. To last as long as possible in a vase, it is best to harvest them just before the florets open. They can then last up to 14 days in a vase.

It naturally grows in light forests and on mountain slopes, so you will find the ideal place for it in partial shade or in the sun with well-draining and loamy soil. You will receive a mature seedling in a pot from us, which will quickly form a dense clump after transplanting. It belongs among very rewarding perennials that diseases and pests avoid, and it can deal with harsh conditions. The macrorrhiza variety is characterized by relatively large green leaves with a velvety surface. An undemanding yet noble perennial that reliably fills empty spaces in partial shade and shade, that is the sweet violet. It naturally occurs in light forests from Europe to the Caucasus, making it perfectly adapted to our climatic conditions and fully frost-resistant. The plant forms low clumps of heart-shaped leaves and gradually spreads sideways via creeping runners, thereby effectively suppressing weeds. The Königin Charlotte cultivar is valued for its intense fragrance and dark blue-purple flowers on sturdy stems, which are also suitable for cutting into miniature spring bouquets. As one of the first blooming plants, it provides valuable food for bees and bumblebees waking up after winter. A huge advantage of this variety is repeated blooming, as it often blooms again in late summer after the main spring flush.
