A collection for planting containers as well as flower beds in fresh partial shade and shade. For all the lucky owners of east-facing terraces and balconies. The selected color palette is not accidental—the color white reliably brightens even the shadiest corner and combines perfectly with any other color. Good soil and the ability to water are requirements for these species.
In containers, you can plant several pieces and species together or use your favorites as unique solitaires in individual flower pots or a window box. Do not skimp on the size of the containers; only in sufficiently large pots can you ensure consistent and stable conditions for the plants. Don't forget the drainage layer. Our tips for growing individual species in pots can be found in the detailed information about specific perennials. However, container gardening is not a requirement, and our selection can also be planted in a standard flower bed and combined with our other collections.
When planning such a bed, count on an average of six to seven perennials per m²; this always depends on the soil quality in your garden and your intentions. In nutrient-rich and sufficiently moist soil, perennials grow faster, so distances between them can be larger initially; in poorer conditions, it is better to plant more densely. The time you can devote to maintaining the bed will also be a deciding factor.
With our collection, you can work creatively and adapt it to your needs and your garden. In your cart, you can easily adjust the number of plants as well as swap species or cultivars. For example, if you are already growing some of the perennials in this collection and only need to supplement your collection, you can keep only the selected species in your cart. During autumn purchases, you can take advantage of available bulbs and order the complete collection including ornamental bulbs and garlics, which will ensure shape and color variability for your bed.

Anemones come from the same family as buttercups. With their elegant flowers on long slender stems, they can liven up and brighten late summer and autumn beds. They stand out against the darker background of shrub groups and will also be grateful for their partial shade. The Czech Perennial Association chose autumn Anemones as the perennial of the season for 2022. They last 7 days in a vase. Whirlwind is a historical variety bred in 1887 in the USA. It has a semi-double pure white flower, often with inner twisted petals, and compact, strictly upright growth. The flowers are very durable.

Cranesbill Cambridge
Cantabrigiense cranesbill Cambridge is an invaluable perennial that will reliably conjure up a dense and fragrant green carpet in the garden. It naturally originates from the crossing of mountain species coming from the Balkans and Southern Europe. Because of this, it is exceptionally tough and adaptable. It thrives best in full sun or partial shade, where it is perfectly happy with standard well-draining loamy soil. It is a low-maintenance plant that handles summer droughts and severe frosts wonderfully. The bluebell is a beautiful bulbous plant native to southwestern Europe, where it grows in light deciduous forests. Multiple leaves grow from the bulb, but usually only one flower stalk. In the right location, the plant propagates well by itself via daughter bulbs and seeds, creating colonies. It blooms in May and June. The leaves die back soon after flowering. To last as long as possible in a vase, it is best to harvest them just before the florets open. They can then last up to 14 days in a vase.

The Tradescant White wood aster is a charming North American perennial that grows wild in forest clearings and along forest edges. It is an absolutely ideal choice for problematic shady and partially shaded areas of your garden. It can easily handle growing even under tree canopies, where it strongly stands its ground against the competition of their roots. You will receive a grown seedling in a pot from us, which you just need to transplant into loamy or sandy well-draining soil, and you can watch how it thrives. It forms dense clumps, but thanks to the thin wiry stems, it looks very delicate and airy. The Tradescant cultivar is characterized by dark stems and the undersides of the leaves, which forms a beautiful contrast with the fresh green upper side. It grows to a height of around thirty to fifty centimeters and is slightly shorter than the basic species. In August and September, it rewards you with a flood of tiny white flowers that reliably attract bees and other pollinators to the garden. It is an absolutely undemanding plant, does not suffer from diseases or pests, and withstands frosts down to minus twenty-eight degrees without any problems. An undemanding yet noble perennial that reliably fills empty spaces in partial shade and shade, that is the sweet violet. It naturally occurs in light forests from Europe to the Caucasus, making it perfectly adapted to our climatic conditions and fully frost-resistant. The plant forms low clumps of heart-shaped leaves and gradually spreads sideways via creeping runners, thereby effectively suppressing weeds. The Königin Charlotte cultivar is valued for its intense fragrance and dark blue-purple flowers on sturdy stems, which are also suitable for cutting into miniature spring bouquets.
