Papaver nudicaule

✨ Color mix created in Loukykvět ✨ The Champagne Bubbles poppy series are perennials. For us, a great and affordable alternative to Icelandic poppies! If you can't decide which color is right for you, we have a mix of colors! Discover Mix blooms in all available shades (orange, scarlet, yellow, white, and pink), so you can discover, try, and admire! If we wanted to compare the Colibri and Champagne Bubbles series, the first difference is that Colibri are annuals. But the advantages of the Champagne Bubbles series don't end there – they are also more financially accessible than the Italian version, Colibri, have better germination, and the seeds are even pre-treated for improved germination. And we also hope they won't be out of stock as often because they are not bred in Italy, meaning communication and delivery times won't be so "Italian." But now for the disadvantages: compared to Colibri, they don't have such large flowers, the stems are less robust, and some color variants are missing. But all in all, this makes them a great poppy!

Papaver paeoniflorum

At the turn of spring and summer, large, full blooms are scarce. The last ranunculus have faded, and there's plenty of time before the first dahlias bloom. On our farm, it was always a struggle at that time to find beautiful, full, large flowers for bouquets. But we succeeded! We filled the void with asters and peony-flowered poppies. These poppies reliably replace peonies, ranunculus, and dahlias. Just keep in mind that they don't bloom for long and need a bit of care to last in a bouquet. We harvest buds just as they are about to open, sear the stem ends in water for a few seconds, and let them fully open in the vase. Peony-flowered poppy Salmon is a warm pink color.

Papaver rhoeas

Poppy with black centers, similar to anemones. In terms of color, it's a mix of marbled shades from white through red and pink to burgundy. We have been growing wild poppies since the first days of Loukykvět, and this year we are returning to them again. Wild poppies require more care as a cut flower and don't last as long in a vase. But! They are such a beauty that it's still worth it. Here's our guide for wild poppies. We harvest freshly burst buds. It's enough to see a crack on the bud and the color within. A wild poppy has only a few petals, so it takes a little while to open. We trim the ends fresh and blanch them in hot water (just boil the water and use it immediately), or char the ends with a flame. Heat helps the poppy open the pathways for water absorption and prevents wilting. In bouquets, we arrange freshly opened pieces or buds, with the understanding that the poppy will open during the day. If you plan to sow poppies just for pleasure in the flowerbed, none of this is necessary, of course :). For drying, we harvest mature poppy pods, roughly from mid-July. Simply hang them upside down in a dry, airy place, out of direct sunlight.

Papaver paeoniflorum

Dark burgundy color is still trendy in wedding floristry. At the turn of spring and summer, large, full blooms are scarce. The last ranunculus fade, and there's a long wait until the first dahlias bloom. On our farm, it was always a struggle to find beautiful, full, and large flowers for bouquets during that time. But we succeeded! We filled the gap with asters and peony-like poppies. These poppies reliably substitute peonies, ranunculus, and dahlias. Just keep in mind that they don't last long and need a bit of care to hold up in a bouquet. We harvest cracked buds, scorch the stem ends in water for a few seconds, and let them fully bloom in a vase.

Papaver nudicaule

Icelandic poppies are among our absolute favorites! Their delicate, silky flowers create a light and airy impression, whether in a bouquet, vase, or flower bed. In wedding floristry, there's no flower that rivals their texture and appearance. They love cool temperatures, so we only grow them in spring. But trust us, you'll terribly miss them all year until the next spring! One plant produces at least 12 flowers. Colibri Rosa "Chiaro Pastello" features delicate shades of skin tone, champagne, apricot, and peach. A masterpiece!

Papaver paeoniflorum

Na přelomu jara a léta chybí velké plné květy. Odkvetou poslední pryskyřníky a zbývá hodně času, než dokvetou první jiřiny. U nás na farmě byl tou dobou vždy boj najít krásné plné a velké květy do kytic.  Ale podařilo se! Vzduchoprázdno jsme vyplnili astrami a pivoňkovitými máky. Tyto máky spolehlivě nahradí pivoňku, pryskyřník i jiřinu.
