Poppy Champagne Bubbles Salmon Shades Mix

✨ Color mix created at Loukykvět ✨ Champagne Bubbles series poppies are perennials. In our opinion, a great and affordable alternative to Iceland poppies! If you can't decide which color is the right one, we have a color mix for you! Salmon Shades Mix blooms in shades of salmon pink and orange. If we wanted to compare the Colibri and Champagne Bubbles series, the first difference is that Colibri are annuals. But the benefits of the Champagne Bubbles series don't end there - they are also more financially accessible than the Italian Colibri version, they have better germination, and the seeds are even directly primed for better germination. And we also promise that they won't be sold out as often, because they aren't bred in Italy and therefore communication and delivery times won't be so "Italian". But now for the disadvantages: compared to Colibri they don't have such large flowers, the stems are less robust, and some color variants are missing. But all in all, that makes them a great poppy! Show full description

Peony Poppy Cream, Loukykvět

Papaver paeoniflorum

Large double flowers are missing at the turn of spring and summer. The last Ranunculus finish blooming and there is plenty of time before the first Dahlias arrive. On our farm, it was always a struggle to find beautiful, full, and large flowers for bouquets at that time. But we succeeded! We filled the void with China asters and peony-flowered Poppies. These Poppies reliably replace peonies, Ranunculus, and Dahlias. Just keep in mind that they don't last long and need a little care to last in a bouquet. We harvest when the bud cracks, sear the ends of the stems in water for a few seconds, and let them finish opening in the vase. Peony Poppy Salmon is a warm pink color.

Cornflower Tall Double Pinkie, Loukykvět

Centaurea cyanus

The Cornflower is a fundamental staple for all lovers of naturalistic gardens. While in the wild you are more likely to encounter simpler blue forms, the 'Tall Double Pinkie' variety will surprise you with rich, full flowers in a vibrant shade of light baby pink. These beautiful heads appear on the plants from June to August, bringing a wonderful sense of lightness to every flower bed. In the garden, this annual, which reaches up to eighty centimeters in height, will become a favorite destination for bees and butterflies that will happily search for food on it. In addition to great revitalization of any country space, it is also fantastic material for home floristry. The sturdy stems are easy to cut for a vase, the flowers hold their saturated color for a long time when dried, and you can also safely decorate your culinary creations with them. Sowing the seeds is easily managed even by a complete beginner; just gently press them into prepared soil in early spring or late summer.

Poppy Pandora, Loukykvět

Papaver rhoeas

A Poppy of a distinctive bordeaux color with light grey marbling. We have been growing corn poppies since the first days of Loukykvět and are returning to them again this year. The corn poppy needs more care as a cut flower and doesn't last as long in a vase. But! It is such beauty that it is worth it anyway. Here is our guide for corn poppies. We harvest buds that have just cracked open. It suffices to see a crack on the bud and color inside. The corn poppy has only a few petals, so it takes a moment to open. We freshly trim the ends and scald them in hot water (just boil water and use immediately), or sear the ends with a flame. The heat helps the poppy open paths for water absorption and it won't wilt. We arrange freshly opened pieces or buds in bouquets, given that the poppy will open during the day. If you plan to sow poppies just for pleasure in a flower bed, none of this is necessary of course :)

Orlaya grandiflora

Orlaya is a floral variety somewhere between Ammi and ornamental carrot. However, it also has outer flowers with large petals, creating the impression of lace or embroidery. Statice is a classic from grandma's garden, but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We grow statice by the hundreds! Once all the florets on the stem bloom, statice no longer wilts and is suitable for wreaths, corsages, boutonnieres. We have been looking for a true blue shade of statice for several years. Even though this beauty is named Dark Blue, don't be fooled, it is purple through and through. One plant produces at least 15 stems. For drying, we harvest statice at the stage when the stem under the flower is firm and the entire inflorescence has bloomed. Poppy Champagne Bubbles Yellow, Loukykvět

Papaver nudicaule

Poppies of the Champagne Bubbles series are perennials. For us, a great and affordable variant of Iceland poppies! Poppy Champagne Bubbles Yellow blooms in shades of fresh yellow. If we wanted to compare the Colibri and Champagne Bubbles series, the first difference is that Colibri are annuals. But the advantages of the Champagne Bubbles series don't end there—they are also more financially affordable than the Italian Colibri version, have better germination, the seeds are even directly treated for better germination. And we also promise ourselves they won't be sold out as often because they aren't bred in Italy, and thus communication and delivery times won't be so "Italian". But now the disadvantages: compared to Colibri, they don't have such large flowers, the stems are less robust, and some color variants are missing. But all in all, that makes them a great poppy!

Vaccaria Pink Beauty, Loukykvět

Saponaria vaccaria

Saponaria vaccaria, or cow soapwort 'Pink Beauty', is a reliable annual that brings a romantic and airy element to summer flower beds. It easily makes up for its unconventional name with a rich profusion of tiny, pastel-pink flowers that bring a sense of lightness to the garden. These appear on sturdy stems sixty to ninety centimeters tall during the summer months, from June to September. The delicate flowers not only look beautiful and soften the surrounding plantings, but they also act as a magnet for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, which will naturally enliven your garden. For healthy growth, cow soapwort appreciates a bright location, but it can grow in light shade without any problems. It looks very elegant in the garden, and thanks to its structure—reminiscent of baby's breath—it combines perfectly with more robust types of flowers, for which it makes a delicate background. You can confidently cut three to four richly branched stems from each plant. They will bring great joy even if you simply place them in small vases in your living room. Cow soapwort grows and blooms very quickly from seeds, which in practice means that it also fades a bit faster. If you want to enjoy its delicate pink flowers in the bed and in the vase for as long as possible, it is worth sowing the seeds in stages. You can perform direct sowing from February to May in several consecutive phases. Even complete beginners can thus have fresh cut flowers available throughout the season.

Sunflower ProCut White Lite, Loukykvět

Helianthus annuus

Sunflower comes from the sunny plains of North America and is an inseparable part of our gardens as a symbol of summer. The 'ProCut White Lite' variety brings a pleasant refreshment to the yellow assortment in the form of creamy light yellow flowers with an attractive greenish-yellow center. Cornflower Tall Double Black Boy, Loukykvět

Centaurea cyanus

It is hard to imagine anything more rustic. The 'Tall Double Black Boy' variety is a much fuller-flowered Cornflower than the one we commonly see along roadsides and hedgerows. It is a truly extraordinary piece, with a color that transitions from dark burgundy and plum to almost black. It grows to a height of sixty to eighty centimeters, so it appreciates support in the flower bed to prevent its thin stems from breaking. Seeds from spring or autumn sowings germinate very readily within five to ten days. It is best to sow them directly in a sunny or semi-shaded location. The flowers appear in the summer months from June to August and become a huge attraction for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies.
