Poppy Champagne Bubbles Yellow

Poppies of the Champagne Bubbles series are perennials. For us, a great and affordable variant of Iceland poppies! Poppy Champagne Bubbles Yellow blooms in shades of fresh yellow. If we wanted to compare the Colibri and Champagne Bubbles series, the first difference is that Colibri are annuals. But the advantages of the Champagne Bubbles series don't end there—they are also more financially affordable than the Italian Colibri version, have better germination, the seeds are even directly treated for better germination. And we also promise ourselves they won't be sold out as often because they aren't bred in Italy, and thus communication and delivery times won't be so "Italian". But now the disadvantages: compared to Colibri, they don't have such large flowers, the stems are less robust, and some color variants are missing. But all in all, that makes them a great poppy! Show full description

You can't imagine anything more meadow-like! The blue color is absolutely enchanting and it is a terrible shame that it can only be grown at lower temperatures. The Tall Double series is a fuller-flowered Cornflower than the one we see along the roadsides.

Papaver rhoeas

A Poppy with black centers, similar to anemones. In terms of color, it is a mix of marbled shades ranging from white through red and pink to burgundy. We have been growing poppies since the early days of Loukykvět, and this year we are returning to them. The Poppy needs more care as a cut flower and does not last as long in a vase. But! It is such a beauty that it is worth it anyway. Here is our guide for poppies. We harvest buds that have just cracked open. It is enough if you see a crack on the bud and the color inside. The Poppy has only a few petals, so it takes just a moment to open. Freshly trim the ends and scald them in hot water (just boil water and use immediately), or sear the ends with a flame. The heat helps the Poppy open pathways for water absorption so it won't wilt. We arrange freshly opened pieces or buds into bouquets, expecting the Poppy to open during the day. If you plan to sow poppies just for pleasure in the flower bed, none of this is necessary, of course :). For drying, we harvest matured poppy heads, roughly from mid-July. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.

Papaver paeoniflorum

Large double flowers are missing at the turn of spring and summer. The last Ranunculus finish blooming and there is plenty of time before the first Dahlias arrive. On our farm, it was always a struggle to find beautiful, full, and large flowers for bouquets at that time. But we succeeded! We filled the void with China asters and peony-flowered Poppies. These Poppies reliably replace peonies, Ranunculus, and Dahlias. Just keep in mind that they don't last long and need a little care to last in a bouquet. We harvest when the bud cracks, sear the ends of the stems in water for a few seconds, and let them finish opening in the vase. Peony Poppy Salmon is a warm pink color.

For Drying

Limonium sinuatum

Statice is a classic from grandma's garden, but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We grow statice by the hundreds! It is incredibly useful in bouquets as filler material and even undried lasts a long time in a vase. Once all the florets on the stem bloom, statice no longer wilts and is suitable for wreaths, corsages, boutonnieres. We have been looking for a true blue shade of statice for several years. Even though this beauty is named Dark Blue, don't be fooled, it is purple through and through. One plant produces at least 15 stems. For drying, we harvest statice at the stage when the stem under the flower is firm and the entire inflorescence has bloomed. Discover Mix blooms in all available shades (orange, scarlet, yellow, white, and pink), so you can discover, try out, and admire! If we wanted to compare the Colibri and Champagne Bubbles series, the first difference is that Colibri are annuals. But the benefits of the Champagne Bubbles series don't end there - they are also more financially accessible than the Italian Colibri version, they have better germination, and the seeds are even directly primed for better germination. And we also promise that they won't be sold out as often, because they aren't bred in Italy and therefore communication and delivery times won't be so "Italian". But now for the disadvantages: compared to Colibri they don't have such large flowers, the stems are less robust, and some color variants are missing. But all in all, that makes them a great poppy!

Daucus carota

Pure splendor! We don't have nicer photos for this year because every year we cut the ornamental carrot down to the last stem and there is simply no time left for photos. Thin, strong stems and umbel inflorescences resembling dill at their ends. There are thousands of tiny flowers on each stem creating a veil or lace effect. It is a mixture of colors, where some flowers are pure white, but the majority are chocolate to burgundy with a touch of white.

Zinnia elegans

The best-selling cut Zinnia ever! But the main thing is the color! Antique wine fading into antique pink. The Queen Lime series is our favorite Zinnia; it's love at first sight! The flowers are large, up to 10 cm, surrounded by many petals, giving a double-flowered appearance. Moving towards the center, the petals get smaller and end up unopened at the center, creating a frosted cupcake effect. No other Zinnia compares!

Delphinium consolida

Larkspurs are spring beauties that are unmatched. But if you want to harvest them for cut flowers, you must be vigilant and harvest quickly before all buds open. Especially in the warm springs of recent years, they bloom quickly, so we sow several batches 14 days apart just to keep up with the harvest. Larkspur QIS White is a delicate white, fitting beautifully into wedding floristry. From one plant you will harvest one thicker stem and 4-5 smaller side ones.

QIS Pastel is a beautiful sample of colors in tones of blue, violet, lavender and pink. One plant produces at least 15 stems. For drying, we harvest statice at the stage when the stem under the flower is firm and the entire inflorescence has bloomed. Just hang them upside down, in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.
