Poppy Champagne Bubbles Discover Mix

✨ Color mix created at Loukykvět ✨ Champagne Bubbles series poppies are perennials. In our opinion, a great and affordable alternative to Iceland poppies! If you can't decide which color is the right one, we have a color mix for you! Discover Mix blooms in all available shades (orange, scarlet, yellow, white, and pink), so you can discover, try out, and admire! If we wanted to compare the Colibri and Champagne Bubbles series, the first difference is that Colibri are annuals. But the benefits of the Champagne Bubbles series don't end there - they are also more financially accessible than the Italian Colibri version, they have better germination, and the seeds are even directly primed for better germination. And we also promise that they won't be sold out as often, because they aren't bred in Italy and therefore communication and delivery times won't be so "Italian". But now for the disadvantages: compared to Colibri they don't have such large flowers, the stems are less robust, and some color variants are missing. But all in all, that makes them a great poppy! Show full description

Centaurea cyanus

You can't imagine anything more meadow-like! The blue color is absolutely enchanting and it is a terrible shame that it can only be grown at lower temperatures. The Tall Double series is a fuller-flowered Cornflower than the one we see along the roadsides.

Statice is a classic from grandma's garden, but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We grow statice by the hundreds! It is incredibly useful in bouquets as filler material and even undried lasts a long time in a vase. Once all the florets on the stem bloom, statice no longer wilts and is suitable for wreaths, corsages, boutonnieres. QIS Pastel is a beautiful sample of colors in tones of blue, violet, lavender and pink. One plant produces at least 15 stems. For drying, we harvest statice at the stage when the stem under the flower is firm and the entire inflorescence has bloomed. Just hang them upside down, in a dry and ventilated place, out of sunlight.

Larkspurs are spring beauties that are unmatched. But if you want to harvest them for cut flowers, you must be vigilant and harvest quickly before all buds open. Especially in the warm springs of recent years, they bloom quickly, so we sow several batches 14 days apart just to keep up with the harvest. Larkspur QIS White is a delicate white, fitting beautifully into wedding floristry. From one plant you will harvest one thicker stem and 4-5 smaller side ones.

Papaver rhoeas

A Poppy with black centers, similar to anemones. In terms of color, it is a mix of marbled shades ranging from white through red and pink to burgundy. We have been growing poppies since the early days of Loukykvět, and this year we are returning to them. The Poppy needs more care as a cut flower and does not last as long in a vase. But! It is such a beauty that it is worth it anyway. Here is our guide for poppies. We harvest buds that have just cracked open. It is enough if you see a crack on the bud and the color inside. The Poppy has only a few petals, so it takes just a moment to open. Freshly trim the ends and scald them in hot water (just boil water and use immediately), or sear the ends with a flame. The heat helps the Poppy open pathways for water absorption so it won't wilt. We arrange freshly opened pieces or buds into bouquets, expecting the Poppy to open during the day. If you plan to sow poppies just for pleasure in the flower bed, none of this is necessary, of course :). For drying, we harvest matured poppy heads, roughly from mid-July. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.

Zinnia elegans

The best-selling cut Zinnia ever! But the main thing is the color! Antique wine fading into antique pink. The Queen Lime series is our favorite Zinnia; it's love at first sight! The flowers are large, up to 10 cm, surrounded by many petals, giving a double-flowered appearance. Moving towards the center, the petals get smaller and end up unopened at the center, creating a frosted cupcake effect. No other Zinnia compares!

For Drying

Limonium sinuatum
