Celosia Act Rima Rose

This piece has been with us for a long time. Light pink combined with creamy white. Each flower has a different distribution and combination of these two colors. The Strawflower is a classic from grandma's garden but also an evergreen of dried flowers. We love using them when arranging for weddings because they don't wilt. They are suitable for corsages, wreaths, and boutonnieres. For drying, we harvest flowers that are not yet fully open, when the yellow center cannot be seen yet. At the same time, we check the stem below the flower; it should already be firm, not "rubbery". Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.

A novelty in the Queen Lime series. Blotch is a lime green shade. The flowers are large, up to 10 cm, surrounded by many petals, giving a double-flowered appearance. An interesting texture for bouquets, it adds uniqueness and at the same time dries great for winter bouquets. The Sunday series are large fluffy brushes on beautiful, strong, straight stems. Sunday Bright Pink is a shade of deep pink. One plant produces one thicker stem and 5-7 tiny side ones.

For drying, round capsules formed by flax after flowering are used. You need to catch the right time when they are mature and the stem below the capsule is firm. Do not wait too long, however, so you achieve a nice golden color after drying. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.

Safflower is a cut flower you simply must have! We tried it for the first time this year and it is a great piece. The stems are firm, strong, and woody. The flowers are prickly, but the stems and leaves are not, so it doesn't bother you when cleaning the material and arranging. Well, one could talk about Safflower for a long time, it's simply a perfect piece. Orange Grenade is a yellow variegated variant. For drying, we harvest fully colored buds. We have been growing Celosia Flamingo Feather for several years now, and it is a great and popular choice for all weddings. It is a type of wheat celosia, where the flower heads are truly small pointed spikes. When grown in a polytunnel, the color tends towards pink, while at lower temperatures, even purple shades appear. It dries wonderfully and does not wilt, making it suitable for corsages and wreaths. One plant produces one thicker stem with multiple spikes and 5-7 smaller side shoots.

Inca Verda Green is a vibrant green shade. The great Celosia harvest continued this year too! We say it at every one of our workshops: Celosia has an extra interesting texture for bouquets. Neither foliage nor a typical flower, it spices up a bouquet like the cherry on top. Act is a series specially bred for cutting, with long, straight stems and large heads.

Pure splendor! We don't have nicer photos for this year because every year we cut the ornamental carrot down to the last stem and there is simply no time left for photos. Thin, strong stems and umbel inflorescences resembling dill at their ends. There are thousands of tiny flowers on each stem creating a veil or lace effect. It is a mixture of colors, where some flowers are pure white, but the majority are chocolate to burgundy with a touch of white.

Warm orange and apricot. The Queen Lime series is our favorite Zinnia; it's love at first sight! The flowers are large, up to 10 cm, surrounded by many petals, giving a double-flowered appearance. Icelandic poppies belong among our most favorite items ever! The delicate silky flowers give a light and airy impression whether in a bouquet, vase, or flower bed. In wedding floristry, there is no flower that matches them in texture and appearance. They like low temperatures, so we grow them only in spring. But believe us, you will miss them terribly all year until the next spring! One plant produces at least 12 flowers. Colibri Rosa "Chiaro Pastello" are delicate shades of skin-tone, champagne, apricot, and peach. A gem!

Specialty of the house! If you haven't met Lablab yet, you must fix that. It is a truly remarkable plant. Lablab climbs, it is similar to a bean, but during the summer, with sufficient watering, it will create a high, impenetrable fence for you. It blooms purple and forms flat dark burgundy beans that fit perfectly into bouquets. Careful, it is not edible!

The Bronze&White variant is the most beautiful of all colors. The color is salmon to coral with lighter highlights on the flowers. At the farm, we are always looking for interesting species and colors. And the Snapdragon Madame Butterfly is our darling! The flowers are double-flowered, which takes the whole Snapdragon to a new level! The stems are not as massive and long as, for example, in the Potomac and Maryland series, but they make up for it with their double blooms. We use them in bouquets, where they create beautifully large volume. One plant produces one larger and 4 smaller side stems.

Rich light pink, color is light upon opening. Matsumoto is a reliable China aster that we absolutely swear by. In our beds, it is the shortest compared to other China asters (50 to 60 cm), but if you put in the work and create the most ideal conditions, it can reach up to 80 cm. For us, the flower size is a total win; they are smaller than other China asters and fit perfectly into all products we arrange for weddings. One plant produces up to 7 flowers.

Stock is a wonderful cut flower! It likes low temperatures, yet we grow three batches a year – two in spring and one in autumn. You harvest just one bloom per plant, but it is a really large, double one. Stock smells beautiful, almost intoxicating, and lasts a long time in a vase. The flowers are edible. The Katz series is not as susceptible to temperature changes, and is generally easier to grow for beginning gardeners. However, this comes at the cost of thinner stems and a lower percentage of double flowers. Katz Cherry Blossom is a soft shade of pink in the colors of apple blossoms. All stocks produce some plants with double flowers and some single. The ratio is different for each series. Katz has 55-60% double-flowered plants. We therefore recommend growing a bit more. At our farm, however, we use the single ones too; they look super unique.

Do you know blood orange? Those are exactly the shades of this Strawflower. Red, orange, yellow in all versions. We recommend Amaranth of the 'QIS Tower' series! The stems are woody, strong with panicles resembling chubby dusters, unlike all other amaranths that form spikes. 'QIS Tower Red' has burgundy-brown leaves and pure burgundy tops.

Paper daisy is our novelty this year and we like it very much! The plants are not very tall, 30-45 cm. The flowers are smaller in size and straw-like, so they hold beautifully in wreaths, circlets, or other wedding pieces and do not wilt! It is a mixture of colors, white and pink. The white looks a bit like an anemone thanks to its dark centers and white petals. The pink is in a Barbie shade with dark brown centers. For drying, we harvest flowers fully open, but not "overblown"; the centers of the flowers must not be turning brown. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, away from sunlight.

Different textures and flower sizes fit well into a flower bed. And Scabiosa is a great candidate! Small flowers the size of a coin, straight stems with a basal rosette, and individual buds resembling beads. QIS Dark Blue is a shade of light blue or violet.

Animals are fed with Sorghum, but we discovered that it is also a fine cut flower! It forms strong stems similar to corn, only thinner. The ears are compact with gold, green-brown fruits.
