California Poppy Apricot Chiffon

Pure splendor! We don't have nicer photos for this year because every year we cut the ornamental carrot down to the last stem and there is simply no time left for photos. Thin, strong stems and umbel inflorescences resembling dill at their ends. There are thousands of tiny flowers on each stem creating a veil or lace effect. It is a mixture of colors, where some flowers are pure white, but the majority are chocolate to burgundy with a touch of white.

We recommend California poppy for sunny beds; it tolerates heat and drought. We use it mainly for wedding floristry because it is wonderfully original. It isn't well-suited for arranging standard market bouquets, as the stems aren't very strong and harvesting takes longer. Rose Chifon is a pink-coral-apricot variety.

For drying, we harvest mature poppy heads, roughly from mid-July. Just hang them upside down in a dry and ventilated place, away from sunlight.

Cosmos are a necessity here on the farm! We cut them by the hundreds of stems; our customers love them, especially brides. However, in terms of color, Cosmos usually only do white and pink. But now, finally, a new interesting color! A combination of light pink and the palest salmon!

Round seed pods formed by flax after flowering are used for drying. It requires catching the right time when they are already mature and the stem below the pod is firm. Large double flowers are missing at the turn of spring and summer. The last Ranunculus finish blooming and there is plenty of time before the first Dahlias arrive. On our farm, it was always a struggle to find beautiful, full, and large flowers for bouquets at that time. But we succeeded! We filled the void with China asters and peony-flowered Poppies. These Poppies reliably replace peonies, Ranunculus, and Dahlias. Just keep in mind that they don't last long and need a little care to last in a bouquet. We harvest when the bud cracks, sear the ends of the stems in water for a few seconds, and let them finish opening in the vase. Peony Poppy Salmon is a warm pink color.

The best-selling cut Zinnia ever! But the main thing is the color! Antique wine fading into antique pink. The Queen Lime series is our favorite Zinnia; it's love at first sight! The flowers are large, up to 10 cm, surrounded by many petals, giving a double-flowered appearance. Moving towards the center, the petals get smaller and end up unopened at the center, creating a frosted cupcake effect. No other Zinnia compares!

Cosmos is among the most used items on our farm and Sea Shells have been with us from the start. It is a mix of colors, pink and white, which isn't anything special, but those shapes! The petals are fused into a tube, resulting in a very unique look!

A flood of flowers resembling cotton candy. Snow Puff is creamy white. One plant produces at least 12 stems.

Cosmos are our favorites, but we missed some color variety with them. They used to be available only in white and pink. Now, finally, a piece in shades of pink-orange-yellow-peach. We just have to have this one.

Pale pink, delicate lace. Didiscus has a strange name, but it is a great beauty similar to Ammi or ornamental carrot. Flowers are disc-shaped with tiny florets. Didiscus finishes blooming faster, similar to Ammi or ornamental carrot, so we recommend multiple successional sowings. It likes warmth, so it can be sown even in summer.

Velouette is the cousin of the Cosmos Rubenza. A wine shade is common to them, only this piece has white brush strokes on the petals. The beautiful thing is that every flower is different—on one you will find more white, on another, it is the opposite.

Specially bred varieties suitable for cutting: these are the sunflowers of the PROCUT series. They are reliable, single-stemmed varieties. They are pollen-free, which every florist will appreciate. White Lite is a pale yellow variety with a green-yellow center.

Cosmos in shades from cool lemon to warmer vanilla. Cosmos are a staple of our farm and when a new shade appears, we jump on it immediately! The flowers are single, the ends of the petals fade to white. Xanthos is shorter than other Cosmos, so it is suitable for boxes and pots on the balcony.

A smaller zinnia is very practical! And the Oklahoma series has flowers 4-5 cm large and fits perfectly even into smaller floristry tasks such as wreaths. Shades of darker and lighter salmon. One plant produces at least 10 flowers.

The most beautiful shade of Rudbeckia is finally in our offer! 'Sahara' is a double-flowered Rudbeckia and contains a mixture of shades from burgundy to brick, brown, yellow, ochre, and the softest muted apricot. All have dark, distinct centers. Well, simply cute, as our Alenka says.
