Tanacetum parthenium

Feverfew Amero

A bred feverfew, the inflorescence consists only of disc florets, meaning the center has no ray florets or petals. Amero is a commonly grown variety in Holland and sells wonderfully at the flower auction. This is professional seed, but don't worry, we've tested it, and it can be grown both outdoors and in a polytunnel, both work perfectly. Amero has round, yellow flowers and resembles tansy. Show full description

Antirrhinum majus

Beautiful, delicate light pink, perfectly suited for wedding floristry. On the farm, we are always looking for interesting types and colors. And Snapdragon Madame Butterfly is our darling! The flowers are double, which takes the entire snapdragon to a new level! The stems are not as massive and long as, for example, the Potomac and Maryland series, but they make up for it with their double flowers. We use them in bouquets where they create a beautifully large volume. One plant produces one larger and 4 smaller side stems.

Lunaria annua

A classic dried flower, our grandmothers had gardens full of honesty. It blooms in spring, just like Dame's Rocket or Columbine, but the flowers are not suitable for cutting. It's worth waiting, and in summer you can harvest the first fruits. Honesty creates seeds wrapped in beautiful oval, disc-like pods. We recommend harvesting them green too, they look beautiful in bouquets! And that's also the difference between white and purple honesty. White honesty has fresh, pea-green pods. When dried, both types look the same. For drying, harvest the pods from which the seed casings are naturally falling off. Simply hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight.

Tanacetum parthenium

Simple feverfew, a classic among cut flowers. The centers are yellow, the petals white. However, it differs from other simple feverfews in our offer. It is sparser in growth and flowers, one might turn up their nose at it. But! It blooms first of all, it's an early variety, and that's why we love it so much!

Panicum elegans

Alternating different textures is, in our opinion, the most beautiful way to arrange a bouquet and to design a flower bed. And we've never seen an effect quite like what this ornamental grass creates! After flowering, the top part of the stem bursts into a delicate fireworks display. We use it in wedding corsages all the time; it creates a wonderful impression in bouquets, and in larger quantities in a flower bed, it's endless charm! They're also great for drying! Harvest when the inflorescences are mature (their light green color will be replaced by darker shades of green to brown). Simply hang them upside down in a dry, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight.

Aquilegia vulgaris

The Barlow series is our favorite aquilegia because the flowers are double! We grow aquilegias as annuals on our farm, so we sow new ones every year. This saves space and also allows us to achieve longer stems. We grow some aquilegias in a polytunnel and manage to harvest them for Mother's Day, when flowers are scarce. Bordeaux Barlow is a burgundy color, a Burgundy shade.

Nigella damascena

A classic among Nigellas, a rich sky-blue shade. Nigella is a spring beauty, but its fruits are also excellent for harvesting, so it will last in the flowerbed until summer.

Callistephus chinensis

A new type of aster on our farm that we fell in love with! Each plant is a shrub full of tiny, gently fragrant flowers. We don't harvest them as individual flowers but as clusters with many florets. The flowers are tiny, almost double.

Matthiola incana

Summer stock is a fantastic cut flower! It loves cool temperatures, and we can still grow three batches a year – two in spring and one in autumn. You'll harvest only one flower per plant, but it will be a truly large, fully double bloom. Stock has a wonderfully intoxicating scent and lasts a long time in a vase. The flowers are edible. Katz series is not as susceptible to temperature changes and is generally easier for beginner gardeners to grow. However, this comes at the cost of thinner stems and a smaller proportion of double-flowered specimens. Katz Apricot is a delicate shade of buttery yellow.

All stocks have some plants with double flowers and some with single. The proportion varies with each series. Katz has 55-60% double-flowered plants. Therefore, we recommend growing a bit more. But here on our farm, we also use the single ones; they are super unique.

Dianthus barbatus

The Dianthus from the Sweet series is a Sweet William. The stems are therefore thicker and stronger than, for example, a carnation. The inflorescence is in the form of a corymb, where at the end of the stem is a mushroom-like cluster of smaller flowers. We've found it most effective to plant them in a polytunnel in the autumn, then in spring you harvest an abundance of meter-long stems. From one plant, you'll harvest at least 10 full-fledged stems that gradually grow and rebloom. Dianthus Sweet White is pure white.

Cultivation

ÚVOD

Řimbaba je nenáročná a velmi jednoduchá k pěstování. Pěstovat zvládne i úplný začítečník.

Do té doby roste do výšky a tvoří krásně dlouhé stonky.

Jakmile vám sazenice zaplní buňky sadbovače, můžete ještě řimbabu přesadit do menších květináčů (např. 7×7×8 cm), nechat prokořenit a až poté jí sázet ve sponu 20 × 20 cm do záhonu. Tento postup se nám osvědčil na farmě. Řimbabu vždy vysejeme do sadbovačů, přesadíme do malých květináčků a až poté sázíme do záhonů.

Před samotným přesazením doporučujeme sazeničky řimbaby nechat otužit, aby si zvykly na venkovní podmínky. Otužením sazeničkám i zesílí pletiva.

PĚSTOVÁNÍ

Na pěstování je řimbaba jednoduchá. Sazeničky sázíme do záhonu ve sponu 20 × 20 cm. Po přesazení záhon důkladně zalijte. Doporučujeme oporu, jelikož řimbaba vytvoří poměrně hustý porost.

Jakmile začne řimbaba kvést, mohou se na ní objevit mšice, proto doporučujeme pravidelně sledovat škůdce.
